If you read the story, you will see that Pete, Jimmy, and Zoe are gone for the summer, and probably beyond. 

Pete was a prominent player in Chapter 2 and Chapter 5, and got a lot of exposure as probably the real hero of the story.  There's no way to improve on that.

Why yes, he was.  But he comes back in Chapter 5 (minus an eye). 

His heroic actions will tip the balance against the evil that dominates Bullworth Academy and the whole Vale Valley.
