Too much for me. Too GEEKY for me. I never learned one foreign language. My medical issues put me exempt.

I know the American language, and can understand some English.

I've had people tell me I need to learn spanish 'cause that's the next most popular language in the U.S. Why?! I'm not gonna learn a language specially for someone in MY country. That's what they need to do!!!! You go to someone else's country, you learn that language, that country doesn't learn for you.

Why do we need to learn for the foreigners' sake? If they want to hear their own language they can go back over the border.

We should be having tests of the english language at the border. If they can't speak it, back home they go. You either know it or you don't. Don't come here and ask people to speak your language. No special treatment here. Rosetta Stone people. Use it.

I maintain that we have our own "American" language. Key to this is that we don't talk like English people.  I don't ask where the "Loo" is when I want to take a shit.  I order fries with my food, not "Chips".  I get on an elevator to go up on buildings, not a "Lift".  I might get on a subway, but never a "Tram".  And I've run from the Cops, but never a "Bobby".

There's English and there's an American English. They have similarities but do differ in cases.

I acknowledge that the roots of our American language are from English.  But beyond that, we have developed our very own verson of our language.  I go to a bar, not a "Pub".  I don't call my friends "Chaps".  I don't refer to my women as "Birds"....(although some are 'Birdbrains').

I say it's about high time we claimed our own birthright, and stop being pussies to the Bloody Brittish.

Before we worry about the English we would want to be worrying more about the border hoppers. The English is a bit less of an issue here.

All we know is that there's an "English language" used here. In the case of the border hoppers, we need stop being so open and kind in this country. Use a bit more force and the border would be fuckin' barren. What's Mexico gonna do? If they got a problem with their people being shot then they need to keep them away from here. War? Well we won it once and we can do it again. This time we'll just take the land you got left.
