Bully Causes Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death
« on: March 08, 2008, 04:49:20 PM »
My co-worker had an older Xbox 360.  He purchased it in November 2005.  It worked perfectly.....until he bought Bully.  He popped it in and before the game would even load to the title screen, the Xbox 360 froze, crashed and displayed the Red Ring of Death (where the Green Ring would normally be).  None of his other games would work.  The unit wouldn't even boot.  Microsoft now needs to repair/replace his unit.  He will be without his Xbox 360 for 3 weeks.

He contacted Rockstar games about this.  They claimed there is no possible way a game could do that to his unit.  Even though the freezing and crashing issues are widely known.  They blamed Microsoft.  I think Rockstar is passing the buck.

I feel bad for him.  I hope the same problems are not repeated when GTA 4 is released.  The Rockstar QA team needs to improve their test cases.  They need to test their games on new and old Xboxs.

I think this may just be a coincidence. If he'd had his unit ince Nov 05 he was due a RROD... He did well to get so long outa it!

Yea the the build quality of the xbox is flawed but i wouldn't swap it for the world. The thing i do is, i bought my 360 just short of 2 years ago and got the RROD after about 10 months. I took it back to the shop i bought it from where they do an exchange for a new console- all you do is switch your hard drive.

At the shop they give you 12 months to exchange your console after you purchase it as well as your 3 year MS warranty. So even though my 360 is workin fine i'll be swapping it in the next month or so for a brand new one.

Fuck the 3 weeks waitin for MS to give you a re-con piece of shit thats likely to go again.

Sorry to hear about your rrod...I am amazed that there hasn't been a class action lawsuit yet about it.

What the cause is overheating in the machine which melts the solder that holds the motherboard in place.

Shake your machine after the rings of death, you can hear the fucking thing rattle inside of it.

I had my first 360 fuck up on me, wasn't RRoD though it just wouldn't switch on at all. My second one is still going strong although she does like to scratch fuck out of my games. She seems to get angry when i want to return to the dashboard in the middle of playing, i can literally here her grind my games to a stop with her fingernails. Bitch.

My 2nd one no trouble at all :D My Bully SE hardly ever crashes.

My first one was a nightmare, scratched 3 games on me, and did the RROD after 7 months.
