I've been in cases where the cashier would be more helpful than the manager. Some managers are great. Some are absolutely dumb. I've had to ask managers for help in a supermarket before, and everything they told me was useless. I would be better asking a customer than asking them. It makes you wonder how people get such positions.

Well, it's not like they're making the place their careers, LOL.....

One completely idiotic and pointless thing they do is move shit all the time so a shopper doesn't know where the hell the stuff is the next time they go in the place.

And I really hate looking for stuff.
