yeah, the voices sound like they are coming from a preacher, but it is creepy because the church looks abandoned.
As for Hattrick's house, Rockstar may have put that stuff in there as an "easter egg".

No, the rec. room or recreation room is the big room in the center with the TV and ping pong tables.

I could never figgure out what was up with all the boxes and junk on the Ping-Pong table....But it is a safe place from getting busted if you jump up there....
