Just get the latest one which is I believe visual c++ 2010 runtimes. You can always just get all of the runtimes for your platform for c++ 2005, 2008 and 2010....but make sure you get the correct ones. there are 32 bit and 64 bit available.

I just installed all of them there and restarted my laptop and still get the error "the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. please see the appliation event log for more details"

You must be missing somthing else then since that error message solely means that you are missing some required files.

Their may be many things wrong here, presumably your graphics card or the processor may have an internal error. You should re-install your os and your windows vista or windows 7 should save your old files in an folder called windows.old. You see bully takes up allot of memory for any pc because it's internal operating system isn't that great and the port for the pc makes it far more horrible than anything you can imagine. Place your specs here and I can give you some pointers on how to fix some things for you.

I had some major problems with bully in the past lots of bad glitches and errors plus crashes. This game gave my pc hell I just looked at some forums and changed some things for myself then it worked perfectly. The biggest problem for bully is it's memory leak check your ram to see how much is being taken down, do some test and search on forums for some error names, you can probably get a good fix like I did.

If the issue is caused due to missing Visual C++ libraries, you may download and install the Runtime components of Visual C++ libraries from the link below:

This error may occur when the Microsoft .NET Framework installation on the computer is damaged or is missing.
Try the below step to reinstall and repair the Microsoft .NET Framework installation on the computer and later check if you can install the software.
a) Click the Start button, click  Control Panel, click Programs, and then click "Turn Windows features on or off." If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
b) Locate Microsoft .NET framework 3.5.1, uncheck the box, click OK and restart the computer.
c) After the restart again open "Turn Windows features on or off" and place  a check mark next to Microsoft .NET framework 3.5.1 and restart the computer.

Step 2
If the above step fails then I would suggest that you manually download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 Redistributable Package and check if you can install the software.
In Programs and Features, do you show that you have installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable? If not, download from the links here.

Wow your laptop is uh ehem don't wan't to be rude but your pc is kind of uh atrocious. What brand is your laptop? I'll check the internet for upgrades jeez I never seen a pc so outdated in my life, it needs some enduring upgrades. I'd suggest getting a new Processing Unit maybe a E8400 or higher may boost your pc's visual performance. A 1.66ghz isn't really that good for a Intel Core Duo to begin with so just get a new Processor.

Get 2GB's or more of ram to, this may boost visual performance for gaming since most games take up this energy during it's application use. That graphics card can be upgraded to maybe to a 9800 gts or something like that just check for upgrades on your laptop.

Call the company of your laptop's brand before buying or installing anything ask them questions on whether this will or will not work and they will tell your what's up-gradable and not so up-gradable. I am getting an Gateway P7805 with some nice specs it's a pretty good gaming laptop and it's near my price range 200 to 300 lol. For the operating system when calling them please ask if they could send you a new installation cd or just download the os off the internet.

Note: Read Carefully! (You will need to reset your os before installing new hardware components to your pc. Even when I install my hardware to my pc it doesn't function quite right so just re-install so your pc could be fresh and almost like new ^_^.)

If you PM me I can help you out since your laptop should be easily capable of running bully and all that. Just seems like you are missing some other files instead and I think I can figure it out for you.

I don't know much about gaming and modding on PCs, but something I would want to recommend is changing your OS whenever you can. Vista had issues from the start. You should get rid of Vista. Vista can be a big player in causing tech issues.

Bump , I got Bully running finally and its running pretty good since I got Gamebooster, now I can start modding , so ?? What programs do I need? And if you were gunna show me how , are we gunna just pm eachother or something ?? :/

First before I will show you anything you should first read through the current list of tutorials in the mega tutorial thread which lists quite a lot of ways to mod bully. Try things out and get a feel for modding since I really want to see you learn somthing from this rather then having all the hard work done for you. Please don't take what I said there the wrong way since I am here to help...but I cannot help someone out if they have not given things a shot first since otherwise the whole point of help then is kinda moot....lol.

Besides...I have only just gotten back to things after having absolutely no internet or electric for over 8 days and trust me....thats a harsh thing for anyone to go through and I gotta get myself back into the swing of things.

The Ultimate Modding Thread is located here:http://www.bully-board.com/index.php?topic=14726.0  and what I would do if I were you since you are brand new to modding...is just start with the first thing in the Ultimate Modding Thread and just go from there.

One important piece of advice for you before you start: Please keep at least one clean backup copy of your entire game folder somewhere safe incase you make a mistake since otherwise you would have to uninstall and reinstall the game all over again. As soon as I get my Bully server up again and fix my domain name issues...I will put clean backup copies of certain files up for download but I will only just put up the files that are currently able to be modded since I really do not want to get in trouble for hosting a full copy of the game when I don't have authorization from rockstar to do so.

Hopefully that helps you with getting started.

Do not be afraid to ask a question...but always remember to search the forum first to see if the question you want to ask has been asked and answered first....since asking the same questions over and over just makes more work for us here on the staff having to move/delete/wade through posts to straighten things out. Also please don't be afraid to pm me or another modder if you wish to have very specific help on somthing that you do not understand and one of us will try to help.... 8)
