Edit: Is there somewhere we can, like, post up character stories and clique information? A buddy and I have already got some ideas and we'd like to get a showcase together that way if and when a RP server opens up we might already have people interested in tagging along with us.

@SWEG — What language are the servers going to be scripted in? Sorry if I've overlooked it in this thread already.

I'll aim for just plain old English. Haven't really thought much about that, to be honest.

Lol. I'll take that, seeing as how my question was loosely worded in that direction. What I meant was — what programing language will be used to script in Bully MP? For example, SA-MP uses PAWN.

Sure, a hundred people will more than likely not be on a server at the start but if you go ahead and get a host with the right amount of slots what will it hurt? The slots will slowly fill up and all you'll have to do is order more from your provider, where as, on your port forwarded server, you'll eventually hit a limit and your players will not be happy.

I'm pretty psyched as well.

I can already see people re-enacting their fanfiction or just messing around with clique wars.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to roleplaying. That's why I love RP.

Edit: Is anyone planning on scripting a RP server and in what code are the scripts written? If no one's planning a roleplay server, then I think it's time I get some money together and start working on that.

Is there any information on the server you'll be running or? Is it "RPG-styled RP" or is it hardcore RP? Does it use the same universe as Bully or just use the Bully map with a universe made up by the players? Will it be strict with an application required before being able to play or will it be a classic register-in-game, no-questions-asked server? Are you going for an English server or a multilingual server?

I dont think it will cost anything to host a server.

It'll cost around twenty dollars a month to run just a server. If you was wanting to run a community, it'd cost around thirty to fifty depending on what services you provide for the community and what hosts you go through to provide said services. I have never been satisfied with a port forwarded server, whether it was me hosting or someone else. There always tends to be just enough lag to irritate someone.

I've found that a lot of the ones who claim RDR is better than Bully use the argument that the graphics are better. Sure, I don't want to play with an ugly and old game but I'd much rather be on a game with mediocre graphics and high re-playability than a game with awesome graphics and no re-playability. Look at the GTA series for example, while I loved GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas for the fact that I could play them over and over again — GTA 4 and GTA 5 were one time plays for me. I messed around in free roam on both of those titles and then finally beat the story and never played 'em again.

I guess I'm one of the few that stands by my opinion when I say Bully is ten times better than Red Dead. Red Dead got boring fast.
