Actually if AJ authorized it I could easily just design a new more modern theme for this forum that wouldn't really be overdone or anything....but in all reality things do need updating now and then and I would easily be able to create a brand new theme that could then be installed to the forum while keeping the bb feel of things....just the forum does have a somewhat too plain feel to its overall look and really in my professional opinion should be updated a little bit which can actually draw more visitors here and possibly more members while not totally killing those here that are forced to use slower internet like dialup.
Here is a old design I used for my clan forums several years ago which I lost the theme but can very easily make a new theme for this forum in a similar vein....but not have it overdone.
Please keep in mind....the reason why the background picture on this large screenshot looks as if its repeating...is because this is actually several screenshots pasted together..the background was actually just one pic and it never moved while the rest of the forum did since the theme was semi transparent using some advanced .css code in the theme itself.
Also keep in mind that my clan forum back then was also far larger then BB currently is and as such it also to quote one of the members "a statistics freak's wet dream" and this is the only surviving shot of that version of my clan's forum. This was about a week after building that version. This was built from a stock phpbb forum and all of the resulting code was my own and took quite a while to complete and the theme alone took about three weeks working a few hours a day on it due to the code I had to write in order to have every feature supported properly. That is the only hard part of making themes....the graphics for just this design I can crack out in a day.
