From Gamespot:

With its massive festivals, topless beaches, and lawless favelas, Brazil has a reputation for being a place where anything goes.

Well, almost anything.

Today, the Associated Press reports that a Brazilian state has banned Rockstar Games' controversial juvenile delinquency sim Bully. According to the service, Judge Flavio Rabello has ordered the suspension of all sales of the game in Rio Grande do Sul, the southern most province of the massive South American country.

"The aggravating factor is that everything in [Bully] takes place inside a school," said Rio Grande do Sul state prosecutor Alcindo Bastos. "That is not acceptable."

Bully was released on the Xbox 360 and Wii in March, with the original PlayStation 2 version shipping in the US last year. In Brazil, the game is reportedly mainly distributed by JPF magazine, an attorney for which said the publication had not been informed of the judges' ruling.

US Rockstar reps also declined to comment on the ban to the AP, perhaps taking comfort in the fact their biggest game in years, Grand Theft Auto IV, has been cleared for release in the US and the UK.
