One of the popular things in my schools was rubberbands and paper. We shot more paper than we wrote on.

Some filled their projectiles with mashed chalk. Those were nice coloured clouds, for sure.

We took the paper and folded it so many times it became nearly solid. To make it even harder, we applied glue to the tip. I never heard of adding chalk.

Forget about chalk, it was a long work to mash it completely, and it often all went out as you shot it.

We just folded it so that it could be launched from a rubberband. Spitballs you need a straw, or some sort of tube for.
