how it works? you insert the armax dvd/cd into the ps2 and let it start, the armax boots up, now you can enter the codes and save them or select already existing games and their codes (if the game is already supported then it will be found automatically by inserting the game's dvd), then you select the codes which you want to be executed when playing the game, you insert the game's dvd and select start, it will reboot the ps2, but with the armax in behind (in memory), the cheat devices like armax "control" the memory addresses, that's how it works in short
using a armax on the old mega drive was much more easier, because you could easily find out the codes by yourself, by starting a game, make some things, reboot, search for a special value, start the game again, change that special thing with the special value in-game, reset it and search for it again, you did this some times and then there were only one to three memory addresses left, you gave them the value you wanted and then you had this value in-game, like infinite lifes/power/ammo etc
what are armax and evo??
armax = Action Replay MAX and the EVO Edition is an actual version of it, ARMax is a cheat device which overwrites/controls selected memory addresses in memory, it runs inside memory
