Unless Rockstar comes out and says it's been dropped I'm sticking with the possibility. They however haven't said anything about Agent last I remember. Rockstar stays quiet about their projects.

It's unlikely. Maybe in a few years when gta online finaly dies and even then I have doubts...

Eventually rockstar has to move to other games since they can't live only from one franchise

If anything, they're looking into using Vice City again. Red Dead Redemption games had a LONG time gap between releases. Manhunt went silent. Bully went silent.

It doesn't help that this cancel culture has become a thing and people are super sensitive about anything they don't like. Makes game devs walk on egg shells.

Well... Bully was a game that kicked the nuts of lots of activists from the announcement to the first release. R* didn't care about that.
Manhunt was a gruesome game, activists ringed their bells and headbuts all over the walls but got released anyway, and if they didn't got enough, we even got manhunt 2...

R* never cared about these loud voices. Thats why I stil have hope for a sequel
