Shop class
« on: August 12, 2015, 01:40:57 AM »
God I hate the quicktime events in Shop. It tells me to turn the Left Stick clockwise. I do it. Mash X. I do it. Mash A. I do it. Turn Left Stick counterclockwise. I do i-- what the hell? Why didn't it register? Try again. Okay. LS counterclockwise. Right-- no! It did it again! Okay. Last chance. LS counterclock-- PISS! And that's it?! I failed the class because of one stupid prompt that doesn't work right? You've got to be kidding! I really hope this is fixed if Rockstar ever makes a sequel.

Bad language is fine. FUCK.
See?

Anyway, I agree. Quicktime events in Shop Class can be a pain.
I've never experienced them not registering, but me rotating the wrong direction by mistake.

I have no idea why Rockstar thought this particular minigame was a good idea. Why not let us modify our bikes and learn more about parts in class?
Why not let us respray our bike and change parts?
That'd actually be fun.

Another thing that bugs me about Shop Class is the level 4 and level 5 bikes.
Level 4 looks really cool with flames and nice colors.
Level 5 looks like a piece of junk with tinfoil over the seat. Yet, it's better in terms of performance.
- And yes, I know the old term: Don't judge a book by it's cover.

But, god damn! Look at it. It looks so dull, plain and ugly.
I'd rather have the level 4 if it actually was as good as level 5.
WAIT A MINUTE...  I just checked the wiki and apparently the level 4 can jump HIGHER than the level 5. The fuck?

I've had problems with the rotation prompts too, maybe I just wasn't pushing the stick enough.

I think it'd get funner if it was quicker and more challenging. I think the chemistry class is fun and it's fairly similar.

So I figured out that in Shop, you actually have to do the motions BEFORE the prompt comes up, meaning that not only do you have to spend at most two of your three tries figuring out what they'll want you to do, you then have to get everything right on the last try. Christ, Rockstar really dropped the ball here.

WTF? Shop class is my favorite. There doesn't seem to be any bugs, and i've finished all of them.

BUT there are conditions:
if your game has a low frame rate, then it might cause delays.
Your controller could possibly be messed up.

and if you're using a MOUSE? .....ur on ur own pal.

Alright well now everything I know is fucking wrong apparently because Shop is working absolutely fine. I suppose it could be that when I was getting ready to turn the LS it assumed that by pushing it to the right edge it thought I was turning the stick to the right? Agh, whatever. My main problem now is that it's so damn unstable that it crashes if I look at it wrong. And yes, I did try the patch. I couldn't install it, so I had to extract all of the data and dump it into my Bully folder, and that solved my problems for a while but it just goes back to crashing now because why the fuck not!

I love this game, but I hate this port.

I can't really do that, I have the Steam edition of the game. I can try uninstalling and reinstalling, but I fear this game may be too old to sync its saves with the Steam Cloud.
