Protagonist's Personality
« on: June 28, 2012, 09:17:02 PM »
So, in Bully 2 would you want the Main Character to be an Anti- Hero sort of like Jimmy? But a little more.. 'Aggressive' ?

Or would you like a 'Good Guy' Protagonist?.. Or would you want a Bad Guy who does a few good things or just a bad guy?..

It would be great if you could pick choices in Bully 2, but it most likely won't happen.

If they don't use Jimmy then the new guy or girl should be nothing like him.  Maybe a nerdy kid who can't fight for shit and has to use his brains to get out of things.

I wouldn't mind that, but I think if Rockstar did that it would be a ballsy move since a lot of people wouldn't like it.

IDK, they made the guy in SH Shattered Memories a real pussy who wasn't allowed to fight anyone, a real departure from the rest of the series.  Doubt that would work for Bully though.

Maybe from the point of a Nerd ?  Kinda hard to work that out too.  The lead character, like Jimmy, has to be free of any association with any Clique for the game to really work.

Personally, I feel he should be a bit smarter that the average bear.  This whole thing of having a 'Stupid Jimmy' never really sat well with me.  Lots of real troublemakers have more brains that that.

I didn't mean a Nerd, just a nerd.  Someone like Petey, but with a stronger personality.

Nais, I like the idea of learning different fighting styles.  Maybe it could be like San Andreas, where there's more than one trainer, each has a certain style.

Nah, I wouldn't like that at all, having a nerdy guy. It's gonna take away the fun of beating up students with the newest awesome graphics and maybe engine. I have a good time fighting in GTA IV, a game from 2008 and there were like a total of 5 attacks or something :D. Not sure about the fighting style thing, I always liked how some characters have their unique style(Russel, Jimmy, Gary). And I remember reading that the people you fight with were supposed to get bruised up, like in the boxing matches. I'd like to see that. And it would be cool if he would be a little more 'flexible'. I don't mean that he has to know parkour, just enough to jump over taller fences, being able to dodge a hit while running, etc, because everyone can do that when in a dangerous situation.

It would also be good if the protagonist is left with a more open or double personality, like Jimmy.

for me, I want Petey himself to be the next pratagonist.Maybe the game involves around stopping the bullying in the school as Petey is the new headboy now.I have made a story in the community stories board, it's called a tale of two headboys.

While reading this thread, you can realize that everybody want different protagonist. So,in my opinion,it's the best to leave character design to player.
So,when you start an game you would design your own character.
You would be able to create his appearance, skills, attributes etc...

^ I'd love that (also getting to choose the gender of the character).   :)

Honestly, I wouldn't want a Female Choice. And I doubt that Rockstar would put in that amount of time for Bully.

^ You may be right about Rockstar, but what's wrong with a female protagonist?

Pfffftttt. I don't care how the protagonist acts in the story. If I'm the one controlling the character, I be the judge on how they act. :)
