One game I was hoping to see more of  is Sniper Elite. That game was awesome. Sadly it didn't move too far market wise. They even stopped producing it eventually.

I hate it when Big game companies buy a game license, screw it up, and stop making it... *cough* Activision...

Sniper Elite was made by Namco. I sent out a letter and as a response they thanked me for the comment and gave me demos to games I already have.

Haha. I like the companies that reply to the letters.

I wish they would give us a bit better of a reply than "thanks for the comments". Maybe giving me an actual letter would be nice.

Did you ever see the post that I made with the question that I sent Insomniac, and I got a great and complete answer about it. And you would think that a company of 190 working on 3 different games would be busy, but they still like to reply to fans. I love that company.

I never saw it. I'm surprised enough to have just a response alone. It sucks that they can't take the time to actually WRITE a letter like you did. I'm not asking for the next game in developement. I just want to know that a person actually sat down, read my letter, and made me a letter in response. The shit I've been sent doesn't even look like people typed it. Its like someone just did a copy & paste of something pre-set.

They are actually automated, so nobody read it at all :(

I didn't put the thread... Old news... But this is my call and response...

Quote
These are words from someone from the Insomniac Games staff. All of you Spyro fans, brace yourself.

Me: "I know you probably hear this a lot... But what are the chances of Sierra
selling the Spyro rights back to you and making more Spyro games? I like
what Insomniac did better than the newer ones."

"Hi Travis,
As far as Spyro goes, we didn't own the Spyro license, Universal did. Therefore, we had no say on which studios made games for the series. When we decided to do Ratchet, they took the series to another developer - it just makes sense business-wise. Just as we don't own Ratchet or Resistance. The PSP Ratchet and Resistance games were completely made by other studios with minimal input from Insomniac. We knew the basics of the storylines, but the rest was totally left to the other developers. I hope that makes sense. Video games after all are a business first and foremost, and sometimes that means different people work on different games.

We are a small studio and don't have the funding to buy the Spyro license back. And at this point there is roughly 10 people out of our staff of 170 that ever worked on the Spyro series. Sorry to say, there is no chance of us going back to Spyro at this point. We have our course set for the next 3 or so years - and unfortunately, Spyro isn't one of the games we will be working on.

Thanks for being so supportive of Insomniac Games. We all wish you the best."

That's actually the biggest and most detailed response I've seen yet. Usually you don't get that.

I haven't bothered with R*. From what I hear, it is a waste of time to try and contact them.
