Getting in touch with the past shows how we became what we are. We use our past to help us as the future comes. The past fuckups we did we don't do anymore (unless you're D-U-M-B). That's for the individual though. What people will become as a whole is unknown.

Governments as a whole keep fucking up all the time because they don't pay attention to past history.  The seem to think they can succeed where others have failed, and they are usually wrong.  The bad thing about this is they send out countless thousands to die in futile wars and then no one is ever are held personally accountable.

This country is in enough financial hell as well. The problem is the government goes out and offers aid to any other foreign country in need. We need to fix our own shit first before throwing dollars around for others. Let's get out of the recession. Then go help.

I agree that we ought to be taking care of our own first before aiding everybody else, but that is a policy that goes back well over 70 years.  The biggest buget buster is these wars we get involved in that run into the hundreds of Billions of dollars.  The last administation alone quadrupled the former record buget deficits by doing this, and we will be paying the cost of 'Bush's Blunders' for decades to come.

Greed is the problem. We have gone through several recessions/depressions and people just don't learn from it. Some of these people are just addicted to money and would throw their entire country under the bus simply to get a few more bucks.
