Possibly depending where you are. But just like I said, dogs can get parasites more easily than little fleas. If a dog has short hair, you can see the fleas and tics and remove them. Parasites are another WORLD in removal.

The one thing you should never do is tear them off. There is a risk the head will be left behind and go into the bloodstream. That causes a heart attack later down the road.

Really? Never even knew that, I've always heard you should never pull them off but never about the heart attack. This one was on my dog, it was looking at it wondering how to get it off, but it feel off not long after.

One of the best ways to get it off is vaseline. When you cover the tic in the vaseline it gets smothered, and comes out to breathe.
