I was following and finally entered the story partway into Chapter 1. As the story progressed, Mercury and I started trading Emails about the directions the story would take. At first, the climatic ending to Chapter 1 (the Bombings) was our focus.
But, how do we top that ? A lot of story was left, so we decided to have a big event to end each chapter, something different each time. Jake was the pure villain (and still is), because that is how Mercury set up the story. One of the others did the car crash scene that caused Jake to flee the school, so that's why he is doing havoc from a distance. It's not possible to bring Jake back to school after what he has done, and the others know it. I've been trying to figure a way to bring Algie back, but it's unlikely his Clique would accept him after what he did, not to mention what the others would do to him.
When the board was going to close, we were planning to continue the story anyway, like maybe on a blog or something. That didn't have to happen, and we're still here. I wish Mercury was back to contribute, but in his absence, I still have to keep the story moving forward.
