*** PC version *** I need help with tree climbing for "Cook's Date"

Most posts on this forum seem to relate to console versions of the game, but I am hoping someone can help with the PC port (and yes, it's true, the UI on the PC version is abysmal!).

After pressing to start climbing the tree, you press (forward) to climb up. As soon as Jimmy gets to the first big branch growing out to the right, he automatically starts climbing out along it. Nothing I do seems to prevent this, and eventually time runs out.

Any ideas how to get him to just climb past the branch to where he is supposed to go?

Press R and then Jimmy will get up that branche

Haha! Can't believe I've had the exact same problem replaying this game TWELVE years later, and found this thread when I Googled it! It turns out it's the E key which gets Jimmy onto the branch.

I'm having a new problem I don't remember from before, though - Jimmy and the branch are in the way of the 'targets' half the time, and it's borderline impossible to get him to aim the catapult where you want. He seems hell-bent on shooting random people miles away, instead of the students disturbing the date.

Wow, what a discovery xD When I used to play the PC port I always used a controller, so I'm clueless about the keyboard bindings.

I don't remember having that specific problem during this missing though 🤔
