Yupp. And a lot of people say that Alaska is probably the coldest state, I now know that is a bunch of malarkey. I've been there in the middle of winter several times and the worst it was was like -25 with little wind.

Really? Well -25 is still pretty damn cold! But yeah where I live, it gets to single digits which, I guess compared to North Dakota isn't that bad. And in summer, gets to 90s. That's one thing I like about where I live, 4 different seasons. I'd be annoyed if it was warm or cold all the time.

Ya. We actually just had a bad couple years when we get -40. Around the average of the coldest temperature here, is about -20.

Weather is odd here too.  I live in Sterling, Massachusetts.  It's a suburb just outside of Worcester, the state's second largest city.  I think the record low here is about -20 (we haven't come anywhere close in many years) and the record high is 102.  102 can be nasty to some people visiting here because we have lots of humidity.  The weather also has a habit of changing quickly.  This whole month has been freezing cold, we even had a dusting of snow last week, but we haven't had a frost yet!  This whole week has now been around 70 degrees.

Damn. I don't know how I would deal with 102 with humidity. I'd be inside all day with 2 dehumidifiers and 3 air conditioners in 1 room.

Same. We have records in the negatives, but we hardly ever reach that low. I live near a lake so we tend to get heavy lake effect snow until mid January to early February when the lake freezes over. We get more snow where I'm at than wicked cold temps.

I don't like frozen lakes. I almost fell into a hole ice fishing when I was 5.

That record was set back in 1911 I think.  However we had one day this summer where we hit 100 even.  We had one hell of a hot summer.  It all started back in March.  Around the middle of the month all the snow was gone and we were getting into the 70s.  Then we had our first 90 degree day on April 7th.  The haet continued when we hit 94 on May 27th and June and July were chalk-full of days that were 95+.  That's what I like about where I live, the heat and humidity take the express right up the coast from the tropics.

Yeah I've never gone ice fishing, due to my fear of that.

We really don't have a spring. Which sucks. The snow stops sometime in late March to mid April. Then the snow sits, and sits, and sits...... turns all black and disgusting.

The worst part was my dad driving his 2 ton dodge truck onto the ice when it was 20 degrees. I was about to jump out and run back to shore.

All dirty and full of street sand?

It gets dirty. Dirt from the roads mostly. It's not warm enough to melt, but not cold enough to continue getting complete snow.

 I hate snow with sand and shit in it.  Our snow is usually gone by mid-late March.  One year we had hardly any snow.  We call that the year we had almost no winter.  We didn't see a single flake until February of that year and then it was gone in March.

That would be great. We haven't had a brown Christmas since 1999.
