Lua and IDE Link?

Hey Guys,
Rare I post here, but..

I was thinking of getting back into Modding, And I wondered if It was possible to link IDE Freeroam modding, with LUA Commands.
Like,
I put characters into Freeroam with ide.img, and then use LUA Commands to control some characters that were modded into freeroam?
Can anyone help me here?...

There is a function to override Ide.img DIRECTLY through lua, but at the moment you cant just edit random peds in free roam.
Reason is, there is NO WAY but using a special function of grabbing or locking into that character to edit them.
What I mean is that you need a way to make the script return the value (or name) of that free roam ped, but we do not know how to do that yet, unless you are fine that the player has to grab or lock into that ped to do so.
