All bosses with their fighting styles
« on: November 06, 2013, 01:43:00 PM »
Hey there, guys.

Listen, i was modding bully and i f#cked up some files, and there wasn´t anyone on free roam and i couldn´t find a way to fix it.
so i got pissed because i spent years modding bully, and haven´t played for a year or more.
i would like the img file with all bosses with their fighting styles (if you can make adults fight like students i´ll kiss you butt! i would like it very much, and also make all women kissable, pleaase).
sorry if i sound lazy by asking you guys to do this, but i´ve been going through a lot in real life, and i do not have the time to mod games like i used to.

Hey man. Thx, but actually i wanted an ide file with all bosses WITH their own respective fighting styles, i don´t want to mod the ide file all over again so that can be done, hopefully someone already has this file. If someone does, please, i´ll be very grateful, and i´ll help you whenever you need a mod (not lua, i don´t have a clue of how to do that).

You can always give learning lua a shot m8. I myself taught several of the rising stars here how to work with lua and it is really easy to learn and get teh hang of due to how scripting is done for bully itself.

Far as getting all of the boss styles.....to my knowledge (anyone can correct me on this if I am wrong) noone has released a full set of boss styles with the older outdated ide hex modding method due to way too many glitches and bugs.

Rise and Lemon and a few others have been working to map out all of the boss style moves and assign everything so not only the player can use the boss styles but the non player characters will also have their respective styles fully working but I have no idea if either are still working on this or not. Best not to bug either of them about this since the more pressure that gets put on them to put a mod out the less likely they are to even do it since any good mod takes time to do properly so it is as bug free as possible so the community will be able to use it with a minimum of complaints about this or that not working right.

I myself managed to get nearly every boss style working fully for the respective characters using lua but  never bothered to keep the script source for what I was working on since it was just to test things out due to other modders at the time working on much the same thing so there was no need for me to release something that did just that.

Besides....I can't hog all the credit and release nearly every mod that can be done since that would NOT be fair to everyone else that wants to do mods themselves and release them for ppl to enjoy.

If you take the time to look at the tutorials...etc for lua and maybe even ask one of the experienced lua coders to take you under their wing to teach you the basics.....as long as you apply yourself at it....I promise you that you will succeed in learning it.

The easiest way to learn it is to take a existing script that has been commented such as my multi bodyguard mod source which is in the scripting section.....grab a copy of notepad++ and just open the script up.....go into the languge menu in notepad++ after opening that script and change the language to lua..(it will be under the L's section of the menu) it will auto color code everything to make it much much easier to understand and follow.

This is just a suggestion to you and if you choose not to try learning lua then that is totally up to you...but I personally think everyone should give it at least a shot to try and learn since while it may look super complicated...it is in fact far easier then the hex editing method and gives far better results. Otherwise I never would have released the lua compiler and several of the script sources.

Yeah, i guess i´ll give lua a try when i have the time, but actually, i found lua scripting way harder to learn than the good ol´ hex method, but from what i´ve seen, i´d guess lua is way better.
Thx for the advice, man.

Yes Notepad ++ is a great program to use when writing out Lua scripts.
