IGN's Article "Essential School Equipment"Rockstar's latest actioner, Bully, hits store shelves everywhere early next week; in an effort to make one last stab at coverage before review time, we've managed to compile a list of important do-dads, thingamajigs, and straight-up weapons that players will have access to as the game's15 year-old protagonist, Jimmy Hopkins. Of course, there are plenty of other goodies and items to find on the campus of Bullworth Academy (and beyond), but what we've listed below should still provide a good ideas as to what young school-goers can look forward to.
Special thanks go out to the guys at Rockstar Games for the official descriptions.
The Stink BombA standard item amongst the Nerds and a schoolyard classic for nearly a century, the evil stench of rotten eggs will cause the victim to halt and double over until they can regain their composure. Just be careful not to get caught in the putrid cloud yourself.
The Bag of MarblesAt most schools marbles are used for swapping and simple schoolyard games. At Bullworth Academy the children have found another use for them. Try throwing them at your enemies' feet for the classic slapstick fall.
The FirecrackerAlways be careful when throwing a fire cracker - the size of the blast area could get you into unwanted trouble. It isn't just the attention from the authority you need to consider. Many Greasers can tell you that if you are not quick with your hands you many find yourself knocked off your feet.
The SlingshotWith an endless supply of shot, the only thing to worry about when using the trusty slingshot is hitting your target. The authorities of Bullworth Academy understand the importance of the slingshot, and to this end, your slingshot will never be confiscated, so get used to relying on it for ranged attacks.
The Super SlingshotYou will be the talk of the school if you can get your hands on this upgrade. Still with an endless supply of shot but with added accuracy, 1st person zoom targeting and a stabilizing wrist strap for comfort. Awesome!
The Baseball BatThe Jocks love to use these but unfortunately so do the Bullies. It is recommended that you do not get involved with anyone haplessly carrying one around, but fortunately Bullworth Academy do not like to invest so much into quality sports equipment so they tend to break rather quickly.
The Ruler -- (Yard stick)A couple of your favorite Nerds like to carry these monster rulers around when walking between the Library and the Chemistry class. Be careful what you say to them while they have it their hands, they are not afraid of using it against any foes! But feel free to take it away when they are talking about the next Grottos and Gremlins meeting.
