Okay so I've been trying to mod Bully, and followed all the instructions and what not...But it won't allow me to actually edit the ide.img file using HXD. It says Cannot open file blahblah for write access. Access denied.

So I'm a bit stumped as to what to do.
I'm the admin for the computer and such.
I've also tried extracting the files using img tools 2.0 but the modding doesn't work. :S

So yeah I apologise if this has been answered before/seems completely noobish but I've never scripted/modded anything before D:

All I'm trying to do at the moment is get all characters into free roam by changing the yyyy/Global to 00 01 00 00 or whatever. xD I understand that bit :)

This never happened to me but what you can try is to right click on the HXD editor and then click run as administrator. To spawn characters you must change to 01 00 00 00.

Hi, welcome aboard.

Yeah, what he said pretty much. Maybe try running as administrator...or removing the restrictions on it through Properties>Security.

You could also just extract the ide.img to a directory of your choosing and edit the default.idb file instead and once done rebuild the ide.img using one of the img editors out there. ImgTool wont let you build a new one from scratch but a few others will along with the one I released.

I can provide complete instructions on how to do that if you wish as this can save a lot of headaches and make editing via hex the files a lot easier
