Mexico doesn't want that. The cartels buy out the politicians/police so they can continue on. The people can't fight back or speak out. If they do so, they're beheaded, left in public places, like near fountains, or hanging from train tracks, and they have messages on them stating that what they did was wrong, and their lives were the price of redemption. They're dying for trying to make a difference or at least just speak out.

Looks like the Mexicans need to take hints from us Arabs. =/

Nothing will change if they don't break the fear barrier.

Look at how many people died in Libya...and how many are dying in Syria DAILY.

And in both cases, people shouldn't have to die. People shouldn't have to live in fear every day of their lives. People shouldn't be subject to the rotting, dismembered carcasses of their neighbors, tossed in the street.

I'm in no way a hippie, but I really just wish people learned that we're all equal and just learned to respect each other. I think everyone would be so much happier.

It depends on where you go. I'm sure there are some nice spots in that country, but overall, I don't think you could ever convince me to go there.

^ The main cities aren't that dangerous for visitors. Anywhere else though...good luck.

Africa in general is mostly a dangerous place, with a few exceptions here and there.

For me, add Johannesburg to that as well.

For other African countries (excluding North Africa), I wouldn't mind going to Victoria in Seychelles, or Port Louis in Mauritius.

A lot of African countries have tourism potential...but centuries of colonization, foreign meddling, and ethnic/tribal tensions have hindered them badly.

Its capital Victoria is said to have an excellent standard of living by African standards (and even modern standards too).
