Bully 2 Discussion / Re: Take2 and Bully 2
« on: July 10, 2022, 04:21:08 PM »
I don't see it going online only. Certainly stupid to do.Take2 would however defend any new release, since to them, modding is worth going to court over. Just to mod Bully 2 you could end up facing a legal battle. Often the company with a lot of money and legal backing wins.

I also feel out of the entire list of titles from Rockstar, GTA is clearly being pushed the most with RDR following. This is a very bad business model since it's exactly what brought Konami to where they are now. Find the real money makers out of all games and just ride it into the ground.

Bully 2 Discussion / Take2 and Bully 2
« on: July 08, 2022, 10:17:07 AM »
I'm sure most have seen the behavior of Take2 and their constant lawsuits against modding communities. Mainly for GTA and RDR 2. Take2 uses their legal team like a spear which doesn't help since modding is already being slowly killed off with the online-only direction things are moving. You can't mod a server. The company has the control.

I think an interesting question is that if Bully 2 does come at some point, will anyone be able to mod it without facing Take2? Take2 is becoming more and more money hungry and it's going down the same path Konami did. Make one or two games and just run on hope with nothing to fall back on.

Mod Showroom / Re: Hot Coffee ☕
« on: June 18, 2022, 02:27:28 AM »
I seem a few months late to this but want to leave a note. The hot coffee files were originally in the PS2 and Xbox releases of GTA: SA, locked away. Rockstar didn't intend for these files to be found, but of course with modding, they were. All copies were pulled from store shelves to be remade.

  • Rockstar and Take2 faced a lawsuit from an 85 year old woman claiming deception, false advertising and fraud.
  • Hilary Clinton and other political figures came out about it just to win some brownie points.
  • This mod actually resulted in the federal government making new legislation for ESRB.

Once everyone saw the chance, they all hopped on the train to trash a game and make it sound worse than cancer. As if they were part of the MLG crowd and knew what they were talking about. You can say it's Rockstar's fault for making the files in the first place, but this is a HUGE part in why Take2 has such a bad taste for modding. Be careful about making this kind of mod.

The ultra sensitive cancel culture thing is killing games. This has pushed sjw into an entirely new meaning and level.

Even the lunch was different in Bully. Edna was one of the key ingredients to add flavor every time she would hock a loogie into the soup, lol.

Well at least in Bully we had a slingshot with a scope.

"Did you do your homework?"

"Not yet. I'm trying to get the rubberband ball and find all of the gnomes."

It's not until now that we see how hard things truly are. In the past we saw everything just as hard but without knowing what was to come later.

Microtransactions didn't even EXIST when Bully came out, lol. If I'm correct though that game is mobile. Most mobile games have in-game purchasing of some kind. The game even says it has ads. Annoying as hell.

That decription looked like it was written by someone who doesn't know when to break the wall of text. We break walls of text to dull the pain of reading them.

As for T2, I'm not sure. They could do legal action but it might not be worth the cash for court and lawyers. Bully especially. Bully isn't their current money maker.

I played around with IMGFactory a bit. Fails to 'install' on my end. I managed to fix it by extracting the exe with 7z.

Cut content is usually because the financial backers (take 2) rush the game to where the devs don't have time to complete it. Everything in gaming is less about quality and more about quantity because the backers want $$$$$$.

Also, the removed fireworks store which I believe would not have hurt to keep in the game.

I was not happy about there being no easy way to access fireworks in the late game. I wish the chemistry station just had more fireworks to build on it.

And then, there is the infamous crash on windows 10. Gotta love rockstar for that because it's been years and they haven't fixed this yet, and probably never will because someone has done the dirty work for them.

Bully was never made for windows 10 because it didn't exist when they made bully, lol. Keep in mind the era this was released. For PC this was the XP/Vista times. Bully was released around 2006 and W7 in 2009.

And finally, we have modding. It's so hard to mod this game.

This is mainly because T2 strongly fights modding and has even filed lawsuits against some modders. These games are always made hard as possible to mod.

When you need to isolate the exe in a directory you might be able to hold down shift and press right click. 'open command prompt here' should be in the list.

Quote
"'luac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file."

This happens mainly because CMD doesn't know where the exe file is, so it doesn't know what you're trying to call. The 'Windows' folder is a good place to put any command tool.

The 'Windows' and 'System32' folders are built in paths that CMD follows. The Windows folder has all of the commands CMD can run which are compiled exe files.

They got rid of the animations but there is a site. https://www.rockstargames.com/bully/

They had to take down most game sites and rebuild due to flash no longer being supported.

This link is based out of dropbox. Dropbox is a site that has often taken down links if they got too much traffic. I don't recommend using that site if any.
