Auditory Experiences / Beta punch visual effect unwittingly left?
« on: September 18, 2016, 11:21:49 AM »
I've made a finding that may indicate that, at some point during development, the punches may have had those visual flashes you see in comics and action/fighting games.

When you reverse Juri's/Luis' side slam, Jimmy punches them twice in the head. I noticed before that there appeared to be a white flash from the punch, and I finally got a full view of it when I saw Gord doing it to Juri.

My theory is that this is a leftover from the beta version. I believe that these flashes appeared from every attack, but Rockstar decided to remove them to keep the game more realistic. However, they forgot the effect from the side slam reversal because it's a seldom used animation and they overlooked it.

What do you think?

Bully 1 Discussion / Random subtitle appearing?
« on: January 25, 2016, 08:56:14 PM »
Anyone else had subtitles appearing randomly for dialogue that is not scripted and said during free roam?

Today I was just enjoying watching Russell facing the preps until he said "Slow down so Russell can smash you!", and it appeared on a subtitle. I was caught off guard and it disappeared before I could get a screencap, but I swear I saw it. It wasn't a mission, I was playing on a 100% save file.

I also remember seeing this happening a long time ago on the PS2. I was on Chapter 2 and returning to the boys dorm at night from a mission that involved pissing off the preps (I believe it was "The Eggs"), but on free roam. Then I run into Gord, who attacked since my prep respect was low, and his attack line appeared on subtitles (I think it was "you're going back to the poor house"). I was surprised, believing it was a scripted attack outside a mission, but this never happened again until now, which is like 5 or 6 years later. So this appears to be an extremely rare glitch.

Anyone else had random and unscripted NPC dialogue appearing on subtitles?

Bully 1 Discussion / How to have weather changes during Endless Summer
« on: December 28, 2015, 08:57:04 PM »
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but after you have completed the main story, the weather, for some reason, is permanently set to sunny. That is, no more cloudy, overcast or moody days, every single day has the bland and completely dull blue sky.

I, for one, took a while to notice this. After a good time of playing the game during Chapter 6 on the PS2, I started to notice that the visuals of the game were now somewhat... lacking. For some reason, the game appeared to be more visually appealing before I have completed it. Then one day I noticed that it was because of the sky. There was no more clouds, no more purple, gray or reddish horizons, and this was somehow taking away part of the fun. Of course, it is irrevelant to the amazing gameplay, but I don't know, having the weather being unpredictable was somehow fun, and made the game prettier. And I've always been somehow fascinated with the sky, even in video games, so this was kind of a bummer to me.

Until one day, I finally figured a way how to fix this and bring back weather changes. It was by a complete accident, I simply decided to do something different and did the Lawn Mowing job. And then, after a short while, the sky appeared to be different. Then I stopped to look at it better, and the clouds were there :D Then the weather kept changing randomly, it even started to rain! The game was perfect again!

So, to bring back the weather changes, just do any Lawn Mowing job. I recommend you to do the one in the house as it's shorter, but the one in the park also works. I'm not sure if doing any other side mission also activates this, I believe it has something to do with the fact that you're doing a mission, so that somehow brings the game back to how it was when it was not "completed"... I don't know how it works, but it's a neat little glitch that I thought I should share. The glitches lastes as long as you continue to play on that saved file, loading the game again sets the weather back to permanently sunny. So, if you want to always have this, you'll have to cut the grass everytime you load your file. An advantage to this it's that you'll always get an extra $40 everytime you play the game. I have got over $13,000 from doing this everytime I play, and this is after I have burned most of my money on every single garment in the game to achive 100% completion, so I believe that's a lot.  :P

Something cool about this is that the possibily of raining is back, meaning you can get the umbrella back! Of course, there's no way to predict when it'll rain, it may happen immediately, in one, two or five days, or it may not happen at all. But at least the possibility is there again.

Not sure if this works in Scholarship Edition, and I also noticed that the sky in that version is always the same thing regardless of weather, with only the colours changing.

Picture with a umbrella and with Zoe, to prove this is during Endless Summer:

Introduce Yourself / A little late, but anyway...
« on: March 06, 2014, 09:01:08 PM »
Well, I joined this forum in 2012, but I only posted like twice back then and I don't remember if I introduced myself, so...

I'm from Brazil and I've been playing Bully since 2007. I have completed the game 100% somewhere in early 2009 (maybe 2008) and I've been just messing around while playing ever since then. I took a few breaks from the game, some as long as almost 1 year, but I always return eventually. My 100% save game is the same from when I first played the game, so it has quite a history.  :D

Back in 2007-2009, in a social network that you guys probably never heard of it and it was only popular here in Brazil, I used to be a moderator in a little "community" where we used to play a "RPG" of Bully. We created fake accounts of the characters and roleplayed as them, resulting in some pretty crazy and hilarious stories. Nowadays the community is completely abandoned, and so is said social network, just like MySpace.

I joined this forum to share all the knowledge and crazy experiences from all those years of playing Bully with fellow players.

I was messing around with DaBoss' super mod, until this suddendly happened.

Of the siamese sisters, only Delilah is a actual character and Jezebel is just a "acessory". If you choose Delilah's skin and then the style "TO_Siamese", she starts talking and doing the same poses she does in the Freak Show tent, but alone. Jezebel only appears if you do this inside the tent.

Well, I somehow managed to make Jezebel appear outside. It was a glitch, not sure how it happened. So far I have managed to do it three times. After the glitch is triggered, this also happens if I spawn Delilah and then give her the TO_Siamese style.

Any modder knows what causes Jezebel to appear?

Auditory Experiences / TOILDS lines - unused?
« on: February 22, 2014, 09:53:57 PM »
Do the characters actually use the lines made for when they are about to get a swirlie?

I had never heard them saying those lines, and I made a test by getting a student and holding him against the toilet for around 2 minutes to hear if he would say anything. He didn't.

Are the TOILDS audio files unused, or they are used in another way?

Bullworth Experiences / Beatrice carrying a Bottle Launcher
« on: February 08, 2014, 06:57:15 PM »
I only saw this twice, in the PS2. Coincidentally, she was fighting agaisnt Mandy outside the girls dorm both times.

In the first time, Mandy hit her and ran to behind the dorm. Beatrice started to chase her and pulled out the bottle launcher. She started to fire, but missed every shot.

The second time, she got the launcher and fired almost immediately after they spawned, knocking Mandy out.

Its interesting that the prefects didn't started to chase her for violence against a girl.
