Bully 2 Discussion / Re: Could Bully 2 actually be a thing?
« on: October 23, 2016, 02:12:03 PM »
I see no reason why they couldn't be working on both. Is it likely? Your guess is as good as mine. But maybe Bully 2 is just too far out from being launch ready to announce this year. Take two did state that Rockstar was working on multiple projects if I remember correctly, although I still think it's important for fans to keep bugging Rockstar about bully 2.

I would honestly die laughing if they announced a table tennis sequel XD.

Well what I'm suggesting is that we attempt to pull people with nostalgia for the game who aren't active fans back in, just long enough to send a quick email on that day. Facebook organizing and the like. Finding people who really enjoyed Bully on facebook. For example. I know that a few months ago on the Bully facebook, R* changed their profile picture slightly and that was all it took to get around 400 likes. If even a quarter sent emails, that's 100 people right there. It's just an idea but I think with the right people heading the project it could be feasible. I sent an email to SWEGTA, and if he made a video it could have the potential to reach up to 10,000 people. (the high end of his viewership from what I've seen, although it could be more or less). If a quarter of THOSE people sent an email, that's 2500.

Bully 2 Discussion / The October 17th strategy.
« on: October 22, 2016, 07:04:21 PM »
If nothing Bully related is announced by next year, I was thinking about getting as many people to send Rockstar emails directly to their mouthoff page  on October 17th, 2017. Obviously this won't guarantee anything, but I honestly think that if they get several thousand Bully related emails in one day, it might at least put the game back on their radar. It's one thing to see comments on scattered social media sites, but it might be quite another if they saw a dedicated, coordinated effort. It might make them think "Ok, wow, people might actually be serious." Bully Board clearly doesn't have an active enough user base on its own to make an impact, but if the fans who are seriously dedicated on here take time between now and then to raise awareness for the campaign among various bully related sites as well as on social media, It might not be totally out of the question.

I watched Swegta's video and then the Rockstar video. Is the Bully 2 slip up real or what. My hopes are high.

I'm pretty sure Jack Patillo was joking around. I had very high hopes for it too until they announced Red Dead Redemption 2 ON the anniversary.

Bully 2 Discussion / Bully 2 actually makes sense with this time frame.
« on: October 20, 2016, 04:59:32 PM »
So Bully was originally announced a year before it was released. Thinking about this, I would guess that Bully 2 wouldn't be announced until a year before release. In 2013, Dan Houser stated he wanted to work on a new game. A bully related trademark soon followed. While it's possible the game was the one with Stan Capton that was canceled, it's also possible that the game is still in development. Assuming the trademark was filed in 2013, it makes sense that it wouldn't be done yet, or even close enough to being done to announce. R* games tend to take a very long time to make, don't they? So it probably wouldn't be too unlikely to assume a 2017-18 announcement and 2018-19 release date? 2018 would be the most likely in my opinion, since it would be the ten year of scholarship, but then again, we kind of got screwed on this anniversary so I honestly don't know. What do you all think? Does 2018 seem like a reasonable date to speculate about or do you think if it was going to be done it would have been announced this year?

Bully 1 Discussion / Re: Happy 10-year Anniversary!

10 years <3

BTW, sorry for the double post guys but I'm wondering, can anyone tell me what parts of the board are still active? I'd love to get into Bully RPing again but it doesn't seem like there's anybody left here to do it with. Would any of you guys be interested? I know this post isn't the greatest place to ask but I wanted to ask where I knew at least some people would see it.

Yay -_-. Thanks a bunch R*. Well, happy 10th anniversary guys.

I seriously think someone should make a spiritual successor. If R* won't give us a sequel, why not have an indie team make one? If it doesn't use any of R*'s intellectual property it should be in the clear.

Bully 2 Discussion / Supposed Red Dead teaser might also tease Bully 2.
« on: October 16, 2016, 12:37:46 PM »
So obviously there's no guarantee, and the new profile image R* posted is likely referencing Red Dead 3, but I just had this thought. Rockstar San Diego, the studio behind Red Dead, their logo is purple. But you know what branch has a red logo? Rockstar Toronto, the company that many of the developers of Bully got shifted to after Rockstar Vancouver closed down. There have been rumblings and job postings for years that R* Toronto is working on something, and their last game was Max Payne 3. Combining this evidence with the interview where R* said "Finish Max Payne, and then we'll see what we can do with Bully" or something to that effect, as well as the recent (Possible?) Leak from Jack Patillo on the Bikers stream, and it's possible that this image is a dual reference: mainly a reference to red dead redemption, but also a game in development at Rockstar Toronto? Bully 2? Your guess is as good as mine and this is wild speculation but I thought it was interesting.

I would LOVE any kind of game similar to Bully. It feels like there was never anything like it before and it would be a shame if there never was again.

Wow...I haven't been on Bully Board in so long...I will hopefully be here more from now on. Anyway, for those who are interested in reading the story still, I think I have part of it posted on here, but the best place to find updates would be here

Community Stories / Looking for a writing partner.
« on: July 04, 2013, 08:25:46 PM »
Hey guys, I'm looking for a writing partner, mostly to help me with ideas for a Bully story I've been working on for the past several years. I lost my writing partner over a year ago and it's kind of hard to work on this without one. If anybody is interested, PM me, and I can send you a link to the story. If you want to work with me, you should be at least a somewhat decent writer.

Bully 2 Discussion / Re: What We Would Like To See In Bully 2
« on: February 21, 2013, 01:33:05 PM »
Some stuff I have been thinking about: Bully 2 will likely be for next gen platforms, such as the PS4, which was revealed yesterday. With this in mind, I feel they can include a far greater variety of gameplay without worrying NEARLY as much about disc space and other aspects. With the new tech, I see no reason these ideas couldn't be at least mostly implemented.

Combat: I feel like R* could MASSIVELY improve the core system of the game, with realistic and fluid hand to hand combat. I would like to see a character that starts out as a wimp, or at least average. From even the beginning of the game, Jimmy was a broken character combat wise. Unless you had no aptitude to play the game, Bully was truly a breeze. The only time there was any trouble is if you were surrounded by more than five or six enemies, and even then, there wasn't any true rush of danger.

I want to feel like the protagonist is in genuine danger when he's surrounded in an alley by four thugs in town in the middle of the night, miles from school with no friends around. I want my character to get in fights he won't win occasionally. I WANT to worry about him getting knocked out. I want training up my protagonist to be a process, where the abilities he unlocks truly make him grow as a combatant.

I think some semi realistic injuries could make for a good combat system. When the Protag gets hit hard in the head, make the screen blur a little, or maybe even a lot. Make him fall down. Make it harder for you to see the enemy, and let head injuries decrease your reflexes accordingly. All of this could be done without too much of an increase in the actual violence LEVEL of the game by making attacks more precise. Perhaps introduce a motion controlled combat system where your swings can hit different parts of the enemy's body.

Next: Living environment: I want my protagonist's town to be alive. I want there to be areas it's safe to go to from the beginning of the game, and I want areas to avoid at all costs until my skill level is increased. I want viciously strong combatants in run down areas of town who won't think twice about knocking me out and taking my cash, hat, jacket, etc.

At the same time, I want highly commercialized areas where there is very little danger, and a weak character can hang out safely.

I want night time to be a factor that changes gameplay. For instance, it MAY be safe to go through the ghetto in the day time by keeping your head down and walking quickly, but at night, when the streets are emptier, and you take the alley shortcut, you're just asking to get jumped.

I also want AI that assesses the situation. If there is one AI enemy that wants to jump you, and you're with a social group of two or three, he might think better of it, even IF you're in his turf. Which brings me to my next idea

SOCIAL GROUPS: I believe that the AI hiring system should return, but be altered. I want to be able to build (or destroy) a relationship with characters. I'm talking about a faction, and even an INDIVIDUAL reputation system that is fluid and changes with your actions. For instance, if you're friends with Bobby, but you beat the crap out of him, he may not be so quick to help you out in a tough spot a few days later when he sees you getting stomped in the projects. Also, I believe this would be an excellent way to structure a system where you can become friends with a character and actually forge a genuine friendship, slowly learning his story as he begins to trust you, and being able to earn or break that trust based on actions and socials that raise or lower your individual reputation. This would also apply to girlfriends, getting girls, breaking up with them, and building new relationships? Get a rep as a cheater and you might find it harder to get a new girlfriend.

Massive environment: I want a town that compares at the very least, to the size of liberty city in GTA IV, with varied environments that are affected by factors such as crime levels, economy, etc.

I like the idea of being able to affect my reputation with different groups depending on how I choose to dress, and how I wear my hair.

With the social features of the PS4 in mind, I want the ability to invite friends into my game as backup, and be able to literally communicate with them with an ingame mic, hanging out with them much as we could IRL. This is next gen, and with the hardware, very possible. I also want the option to schedule my classes. People who don't want this could pick from several preset schedules by going to the office. I want to be able to pick certain areas of study. This is after all, a game about school.

Milestones: Wouldn't it be cool to have a storyline branching multiple school years, say even 9-12. Where you can watch your character age from a bratty freshman into a more mature senior, and even have a graduation at the end of the game? Wouldn't it be cool to have a city environment where you have mass transit available to you, but can also earn a driver's licence?

This would be a first for rockstar, but I also kind of like the idea of branching dialogue, and morality options, giving you MULTIPLE ways to approach different missions, and different ways to socialize.

     What do you all think?
