Bully 1 Questions / Chemistry Class question

I'm not a very experienced gamer so I'm sure this will look pretty stupid.
Every time I push on a button for the second time, :x: for example it explodes.  
No matter when I push the damn thing explodes in my face.  HELP !!!!
I don't have a problem with the other classes.
