Title: Is jimmy actally......smart?
Post by: blue ninja costume on April 01, 2007, 05:45:16 PM: Ive always wondered is jimmy Really as dumb as everyone says he is? or is he really smart and doesnt want people to know it
I think hes actally smart because some of the things he says are really witty and dumb people (like me) could never come up with what do you think?

Post by: deanvalefor_johnnyrules on April 02, 2007, 01:48:32 AM: Jimmy's smart in a way. He has this view on life that others don't, seing as his mother re-married too many times. He's sort of stupid in a way, if you analyze the game script, but maybe that's just me.

Post by: LadyLuckDoubt on April 03, 2007, 03:43:47 AM: I think he's smart. He's also a lot more mature than most of the other kids: he evaluates people- and situations- for himself rather than just going on what he's expected to- or told to think.

He mightn't have as much in the way of rote learning as other kids (ie. the nerds or someone like Gloria), but his intelligence is more across the board. He's quick-thinking in dodgy situations, and knows how to deal with people to avoid drama and to maximise the situation to his benefits.

I don't even think that he's fully conscious of how he comes across to other people. I just think that a lot of society- and teachers and authority figures in particular- percieve intelligence in a very limited scope and anyone who doesn't fit that image is automatically assumed to be stupid. Which really isn't the case...

I do think he's smart, though. He's as smart or smarter than Gary, but lacks Gary's cunning and persuasiveness. And being a punk who beats up people doesn't help his reputation. But the teachers think Jimmy is smart, and he's pretty good at PR, so, yeah. He's smart.
