Just thought I'd drop by here and say hello. :)
I've been a fan of RockStar for years now, but the moment I heard about Bully (or Canis Canem Edit as it's called in Australia) I've been seriously excited about it. My partner bought it for me for Christmas, and I've been playing it since then- I completed it a few months ago but I'm playing it again- it's great "comfort gaming" if I'm feeling a bit low, plus I'm trying to get all the bonuses and stuff I might have missed the first time around.
I found this board because I was looking for a fandom for this game: seriously- the fic potential is huge here! There is so much canon and so much was left unexplained at the end... not to mention I'm a slash fangirl (but in all honesty, the het ships in the game are quite :cool: , too.)
I'm probably not the intended audience for the game- I'm a 26 year old mother of two- but hey- I'm a total geek and I hated school- but having a laugh about it all with a good videogame has been great. :)

*grins* I'm not your average parent... I'm a geek. :)
As for the violence thing? I try to avoid playing the more violent bits in front of my kids because they're only little and it's hard for them to understand the context of what's going on. (I mean, I think it's okay to slingshot people who are picking on someone because he's a nerd, but it's hard to translate that to a five year old while you're concentrating!) Bully actually has some decent ethics about it: generally picking on people beneath you isn't a good thing in the universe, and the way the bullies are depicted is in a manner that hardly says "Being a bully is cool." I mean, Jimmy tends to be fair and just and defending the underdogs- that's cool in my book. :)
So yeah: it's too old for the kids right now, but when they're older, I'll have no qualms about them wanting to play it. I wish I'd had this game when I was in high school! :) The GTA games, though... they're a bit different. ;)

But that's awesome that you're a mother and you play games! Mine said that I'd probably neglect my kids [if I had any] in favor of a game. =P
For the record [don't know if you lurked or not before] but I'm female, and the name's Chrissy (Or Chrissie, depending on who is spelling it). I've been mistaken for a gay male on many occasions, so I thought I'd throw that out there first. =P
