Title: The map
Post by: Grilled cheese on October 19, 2012, 06:30:29 PM
It seems a lot of you want bully 2 to take place in bullsworth. However if that were to happen it would have to be the same map as in bully 1. Would you be ok with this or would you want it to be different, or mane you want it to take place somewhere else. Post-away.

Chuck doesn't want it to take place in Bullworth.  I'm undecided.

The map should be bullworth again but it wont be the same cuz R can make that after Jimmys parents are back from there cruse they take Jimmy home for about a year and then they want to go for a whole year vecation (bad parents really awfull) then by the year Jimmy wasnt in bullworth Jimmy comes back to his second year of bullworth the city has changed all of it has grown into giagantic towns and a new hugh town nearby with a NEW SCHOOL got build.

This oughtta be a whole new place.  What's the fun of re-hashing the same ole thing ?

Half the neatness of a new game is exploring new territory.  What's to discover on the same map ?

Did you read my comment? If not then you should read it and see why it should be the same map

If the changes you describe are done, then it really won't be the same map, now will it ?

Easy guys.  After all this time, there probably won't be a Bully 2 anyway.  :/

Well I guess chunk is right but still I mean there will be areas that will stay like : The city hall , why would they change it?. Or the rich kids hangout at old bullworth they got everything so why should they change it?. the dem to , Without it the city will be all water. So on and on there are more places that will make sense to not change them.

The map can easily be expanded. Remember: Bullworth was meant to be a whole lot larger earlier in development.

I wish they had.  I HATE when stuff is left out, not only on Bully, but several other games as well.  It's like deleted scenes in a movie.  Like, WTF ?

R had no choice but to cut the map cuz ps2 cant handle the size of the game.

^ Incorrect.

It was due to time constraints.

U sure? Ive readed that the map reached to the max of ps2 limits and R had no choice

Maybe most of the mentioned places like the pizza parlor were supposed to be in the areas that were never made.

Pretty sure. That's what MadmaN told me.

Besides, GTA games have much bigger maps.

The Pizza Parlour was meant to be where the New Coventry police station is. Why they changed it to a police station though, is beyond me.

But I know this because the ambient file called "PizzaParlourMx" can be heard near the police station.

well I'll throw in my 2 pennies:
From all ideas I ever red about Bully 2 map,c00ld0c26's had the best idea of them all.
And I red a LOT of ideas.

That would also create an nice cliche!
So,Jimmy went home with parents (to another school?).His father dies. His mom marries another old rich man.His new stepfather once went to Bullworth. And BANG!! Another year in Bullworthles (C what I did there?).

I also think they should add some mountains and caves.
So the rival school(?) could be placed on a mountain. Also, mountain would be cowered in snow all the time!

Also here's an idea:what if there was an HUGENORMUS(I know, not a word but...)earthquake,and like half of the city would be in ruins,so there's excuse to rebuild the city (and build huge modernish school)

Possibly, like the GTA games, they wanted to have a police station spawn and a knocked out spawn in each area/town.

As for the map being too "big" check the size of GTA SA's map. It's huge.

I really want a GTA SA styled map, not the same size obviously, but maybe 3 or so towns, focusing on a rivalary with another school, or maybe the new character gets expelled/pisses off the wrong gang and has to move away.

I'd also like to see an increase in traffic. And a variation of vehicles. And different colours too.

Yeah, but they could've put it in the abandoned building next to it. Why they axed the pizza parlour, I don't know.

And yeah, it's as I told him, the GTA: SA map is way bigger, which nullifies the size argument.

IMO the size of Bullworth is about the same size as the 1st island from GTA III.
Maybe a slight bit bigger, but you know.

It was revealed that GTA V's map will be larger than RDR's map by at least three times, and bigger than San Andreas, RDR, and GTA IV's map combined (counting UNDERWATER).

Here is RDR's map to get some sort of idea: http://guidesmedia.ign.com/guides/14320288/images/reddr_map_legendary.jpg (http://guidesmedia.ign.com/guides/14320288/images/reddr_map_legendary.jpg)

So, how big do you guys want it now? As big as V's map will be? Smaller? ...LARGER?!

I'm not going to crack that's what she said joke..
Hey GTA 5's in SA and I never got bored of that map, well maybe the countryside but that's it I loved San Fierro and Las Ventures and liked Los Santos so nearly every aspect to the map.

SA is still my favorite GTA game, so I'm looking forward to GTAV.

calm down ppl it's just a harmless joke lol
I feel that a big map is the best thing
if this is going to take place a few years after the original bully then lets have everything updated and upgraded, that way no one can say the developers were being lazy by not making a new area...

and I think it should take place at a more modern looking bullworth, have it be MUCH bigger than before...more schools and such ya know!

I agree some things could be more modernized, but I liked the overall vintage look.

^ Yeah I think that was the idea.  Bully takes place in no particular year and there are references to numerous eras.
