Is the name Omar given to non-muslims? Because here in Egypt if someone's called Omar, then he's a muslim, so I want to ask if you know someone called Omar and not muslim. Thanks in advance.
-
I always assumed he was, just because of the name.
-
Yeah me too, either Arab or Muslim or both.
-
I don't think so...Omar is a common name among Hispanic people from what I recall, and this is vindicated by his last name Romero.
Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Bradley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Bradley)
And as you can see here, on rare occasion non-Arabs and non-Hispanics will be named Omar.

Oh yeah, I forgot that. Good point.
-
Mixed Parentage maybe ?
-
Well, I don't think he's from the arab because of his last name,Romero, but maybe he's half arabic/ half spanish

I'm sure it is an arabic name, that's because the 2nd leader of the islamic country after my prophet Mohamed is called Omar.
-
Not necessarily, Nais. My dad is Hawaiian and has brown skin, but I'm white as fuck.
-
Yeah,I think that has something to do with genetics.

Not in a racist way but wouldn't that give him a little bit of colour? Unless the family on each side decended to the point where the colour was lost. Idk :hmm:
Not necessarily. I'm Palestinian...but I'm extremely pale and have light brown hair with blue eyes. Also have blond and redheaded family members with eyes of various colors.

Genetics play a interesting role in life.
