Title: Beta strafe?
Post by: deadpoolXYZ on April 20, 2012, 05:05:52 PM
Well I found this "odd" strafe a long time ago but completly forgot to show it.

Well bassicaly is jimmy with one of his arms down and the other one up like if he was gonna stab someone.

If you look carefully at hal or norton (or any other modded character including jimmy) short strafe after using the bearhug you will notice that it looks the same. Like at the end of johnny main boss combo (the overhead stomp combo) he has the same strafe as his beta style.

Maybe this was supposed to be their original strafe but they ended up having the same as the grappler jocks ones.

This probably isn't a beta strafe , it is an odd occurring stance that only happens when someone either does a boss move or special move. I think this happens because it is apart of the games scripts and probably was made to happen in boss fights only. Most special moves have this like Derby's Uppercut or Johnny's Hay'Maker it is weird. I always wondered what the hell this is. I don't think this is a strafe maybe some sort of way to let you know that these moves are special I don't know lol :P.

This is a beta strafe indeed, but it's not for Johnny, that I know for sure. Most likely for Norton.

It's not the only one...I noticed another stance that looks more suited for busting someone.

I have noticed the same.

There are some references in the lua code that seem to imply that they are beta so I wouldn't rule that out.
