GreenOmni, his modding partner is this entire board including you and me and everyone else who wishes to play apart in making progress for everyone else, but as far as just a ide.img mod is required, i think not personally its something more, i hope we together can accumilate a reasonable method soon

I did hear Sarabhb47 say mixing styles is done in Ide but it kinda needs extra modding.

It has to do with default.idb because madman said thats the source of ide and is a bit different than modding ide:D WELLLL:D

I was just talking to saurabhb47 on youtube and he said to mix fighting styles it has nothing to do with modding ide. So then i asked wat do u mean and he said u need jimmy's /Global and AI. And then he said to mix fighting styles u need to screw up act.img and scripts.img with hex editor.And if u do you'll surely find something new.

There is some things I have tested which work consistently through the ide only.
But when you try to alter stuff in Act...glitches arise. This is what I had been trying to fix...but I took a break recently since I have work around the house to do.

If only we could find a way to mix styles for AI instead of Jimmy. I really don't care about styles for Jimmy because you cant move around like Jimmy's normal style. I hope someone creates mixed styles for AI :/. Please don't take this offensively it's my opinion. I don't care for styles for Jimmy.

guys if u read wat i said earlier u hav to srew up act and sripts tto mix styles. Mixing styles dosen't involve ide atall because u need jimmys global and AI.

Anyway me and BullyIMod123 hav been talking and we've found out how to get preps full style for jimmy. Not releasing until bugs are fixed. Soz bout that :D So milkerbarba said getting preps full style for jimmy is how you mix styles so me and BullyIMod123 are super close:D:D

I know what you implied by that comment, and please, pretty please, keep me out of this quarrel.
But to answer your second question: Took me two months of nonstop testing to understand how certain files work. As I said before, I've taken a break recently because there's lots of work around the house to do (I recently moved).

360 you should try it by yourself. I mean the tools you were asking for are pretty obvious and saura already said which files you have to mod to get it working. The next step is to try it by yourself.

what i mean by scripted styles is having the style given to you by a script, ie like when you go boxing it gives you the "boxingplayer" style but then instead of it giving you back "player.act" when the mission ends, have it give you something else completely different instead.

well it is technicly fighting style swapping in scripts, except its not code-swapping its manually edited in, personally i think this script style thing is a descent idea

Like everyone has said....the style swapping just takes some time and patience since you have to do a bit of trial and error to figure out what works...what doesnt.....take note of what works and doesnt and basicly go from there. If you really carefully look over the structure of the files in a hex editor....you will start to see that there are a lot of editing possabilities there and really, not to piss anyone off or anything...but anyone that gives up after a little bit of time should just walk away from that part of modding for a short bit...then come back and give it another try since if you keep at it...you eventually will succeed.
If you take a look at some the things I have done and released....the mods I and others have done do take quite a lot of time to come up with and get working....so modders that do this level of work really hate to be pestered by someone begging them for a complete handout as this is basicly the same as letting someone copy test answers from you during school as that person will never really learn anything from doing that....they will jsut get a easy way out of things and continue down that road. The new modders that DO try to learn modding the game without asking for any handouts...but just a hint or two however will usually get some help in the form of a hint to steer them in the right direction but not give a complete full answer. I have been doing that on my end with releases I have released....rather then just give a polished up solution that noone can learn from. Plus I have lately been helping a new modder via xfire with a few mods since he genuinely is willing to learn how to do this and he does try pretty hard which makes me quite proud as he has read the tutorials I have released and actually learned a lot from them....which makes me happy that someone is learning on their own how to go further with somthing that was already released.
@RedBlasterI hope the move went well and that you are settling in your new place ok since moving can be a pain....as well as moving out...lol. Not sure which is harder since I have experienced both. But I will be getting in contact with you soon via pm since I will be needing someone to help with testing some things for me since I will be hand picking testers atm and only a few since I will be releasing some pretty groundbreaking stuff for bully very very very soon.

Hopefully I didnt derail this thread too much but I just had to insert my 2 cents worth and if it actually means somthing to someone...then cool...if not....then oh well. No modding community is perfect and there will always be some that beg for handouts...and others that genuinely want to learn on their own with little help....and others that prefer full tutorials to learn from before starting their own mods based on what they have learned....but in the end....this is what game modding is all about. To learn from and go further and further with each new mod.
The GTA community is a prime example of everything I have said and I have considered that a model for this community to build upon as long as we can all cooperate with eachother and not piss current modders off to the point where they refuse to ever release anything. That will just end up to be a downfall of the community and will bring bad opinions to not just the general community...but to the modder(s) themselves and that is somthing I really do not want to see.

Thank you very much GreenOmni, your shoutout and input is greatly respected and well appreciated so thanks for that, allthough I must say I am taking a short break from making mods and generally experimenting sadly for the forseeable, as far as Alex's comment goes DB, I would have to say that I don't personally think he will release it full stop, people like him are common sadly and they need people like you and others to pester them on youtube and elsewhere because this boosts their fragile ego in their seemingly insignificant lives, the best thing to do would be to just ignore them as you wont be filling their tanks with the fuel that is vitaly needed for this, this is why these people will never release anything sadly. I do have to agree with Alexs' second observation about hanging about when noones online, these things can't be rushed i'm affraid matey, so Alex is right when he says that your hanging around like a bad smell, sadly the number of people online doesn't change by doing this

Can we end this already, guys? Please. Throwing labels around is just going to make things worse.
However, I can guarantee you guys that it will be released IF, and only IF, it is done by some kind of activation similar to MadmaN's and Steman's mods...in which basically the second the mod is activated, credit is given to the respective modders...that's why we asked for Mad's help on this.
Otherwise, it can just end up in the hands of leechers and plagiarizers.

Basicly what he means is how we load our mods using a script that can be activated either by running a arcade machine...or by running a game at the carnival to activate it while ingame.
I am however working to get a custom script loader functional by using a similar method that we used for our vehicle spawner v1 beta (which may be fixable with my new method) but in this case instead of using the vehicle script it will be a somewhat custom script made by simply combining parts from a few debug menu entries and some the scripts to do what is needed. I have confirmed that this method does indeed work but you have to be extremely precise in what you clip from a script to add to another one otherwise it just crashes the game upon game startup.
I will be working more on this idea tonight after dinner (going out to dinner with some family) and will keep throwing updates via pm to those that I am working with and start a thread in the general modding section for the time being.
I also have found that there is a possability of coding a scratch made script loader in lua since I am getting a better idea now on how the lua scripts were originally coded and might try a scratch made one soon as well since I have been working to decompile a couple of the test scripts by hand to see how the code is laid out and how the general structure should be for it. Due to the nature of how complex this is....I cannot as of yet guarentee any success nor failure yet since NT is the closest one that has ventured down this particular road and due to the fact that he has not made any further posts here...and never responds to pms sent to his youtube channel.....I have no way to compare my own notes with his to see if he has done the same experiments that I have.

ah so by script.img, yea that gives me an idea actually, i think it can be possibly done by editing a carnival game and changing what style it gives you back, as far as the decompiler yea its a real shame nt isnt online or anything as this would deffintly move things further along
