So, I'm really late to the party here. -__-
But, uhm, anyways, here's my opnion on Bully 2 (I'm new here and I wasn't sure if I should make this a comment to a previous topic or just make my own, so sorry
I had been checking this place out for awhile but was too shy to say anything :I )
Well, I just recently became obsessed with Bully. Again.
That game is just PERFECTION, and even though the little slip-up that Shawn Lee made about Bully 2 was two years ago, I really REALLY hope that there will be a second one. Just because I love all of the characters so much, they were just great, colourful, unique characters.
Having said that I love the characters and the setting (Honestly, Bullworth Academy is my IDEAL school, that place is...awesome) I was reading some hopes and expectations for Bully 2 and I really didn't agree with some of the stuff I read-- like Jimmy being in college, or some other stuff-- a lot of the ideas were good, too. (I'm just stubborn and opinionated)
So, if there was to be a Bully 2, which I really doubt there will be at this point but who knows, it should definitely still be in Bullworth and should have all the same characters with new characters added in. New cliques, a rival school would add a TON to the story, more things to do, hopefully the game will be longer because Bully was too short-- still perfect, just too short. Maybe it could push for an M-rating, only because teenagers are awful and do awful things. I'll leave the plot to Rockstar, but no, Jimmy shouldn't be in college. Honestly, the only thing I can really agree with is it being the next year for him in highschool and he's 16 by then...
The whole point of Bully was to have a high-school setting, because high school is awkward, and cruel, and teenagers are insane. That's what made Bully such a great game-- they portrayed that point in a teenager's life so well! At least that's why I liked it.
But while I'm saying all this, I don't know what Rockstar has in store for Bully, if they have anything at all. I'm also nervous that if they WERE to make a sequal, it might end up being really bad and that could ruin everything. So, maybe Bully is just one of those one-shot games and is perfect the way it is. (maybe)
Sorry for the really long post here.
Opinions, feedback, anything is welcome. :)

Welcome to the board. Enjoy your stay.
I got into a little debate (http://bully-board.com/index.php?topic=11274.msg144683#msg144683) with another member here about Bully 2 being in college. I rather like the idea - college just seems crazier than a high school to me. Of course, nobody has any say as to where the next game might take place expect for Rockstar.
I also wouldn’t like Bully 2 being set in Bullworth again. We need a fresh start - new places to see. I would like it if some characters stayed because as you said, “They were just great, colorful, unique characters.†The characters have to be my favorite thing about the game.
The thought of a rival school also doesn’t strike my fancy much. I'd rather have it be focused on one completely crazy school.
Bully's too short. Gotta fix that.
And yes, I think Bully 2 should be M rated. As crazy as this sounds, I want the playable character to have casual sex. It happens a lot in teenage life.
All we can do is dream about Bully 2. I'm not giving up hope unless Rockstar clearly says there won't be a second game.

Hello and welcome to Bully-Board! And yes this is in the right place!
Honestly, I couldn't agree more with what you said. I want to return to Bullworth Academy and all the great characters that come along with it. I loved the New England town setting. It was brilliant.
More missions are a necessity, and some new characters as well.
But like you said also, one of my greatest fears is that they'll mess up the sequel. Sequels don't usually go well. (Not that none go well, I'm just saying, there's a lot that don't.) I think this only because I don't know what else they could do with a game like Bully. I mean really, he won all the cliques' respect. So maybe he'd lose it again then gain it back in the end? Who knows. That's for Rockstar to decide.
Anyways, glad to have a new member here! Stick around. We've got a great community!

I think I just like Bully way too much as it is to have any big changes, but I agree that something different might be needed.
But, I dunno, something about Bullworth just really appealed to me. I just loved the feel of the place, and the way everything looked.
And I really agree about the casual sex part, what you said was totally true. It happens.
I really don't know what to think about the idea of Bully 2 anymore, though. I was thinking the same thing, unless Rockstar up and says they have no plans on making Bully 2, then I'm going to keep a little hope, but I'm not expecting anything anytime soon.

I felt the same way. I don't know why. The "crappy boarding school" theme was great!

Hello, and thank you ^_^
I totally agree, just the over-all town and school setting was perfect. That and the characters really made the game enjoyable.
I read somewhere that perhaps Gary could join a rival school and there could be this big fight between the rival school and Bullworth-- that would be pretty interesting. Or just Gary coming back all togehter and starting drama again, but some people might complain that they're just re-using the same idea again.
It really is all up for Rockstar to decide. I just want it to have that feeling the first Bully did, it was such a unique game.
And as for the "crappy boarding school"-- RIGHT?! It just fit the game so well.
Honestly, I wish I could go to school like that xD
-
I know! I want to go there so bad and trying to believe so hard that it actually exists.
I think the idea of a rival school would be interesting. It'd be something different and not just Bullworth like the first.
And, that would open up more possibilities for missions like "The Big Game" which were a little different. Sporting events, something people have thought are a must-be for "Bully 2."
-
Same here!
It was such a believable setting, the whole town was.
Yeah, I don't know where the rival school would even come from, honestly.
But you're right, it would add a lot more possibilites.
But the more I think about it, the more I have to agree with your one statement on how there might not be much to do with something like Bully in regards to a sequel.
I think Bully 2 is either going to be way too much like the first-- which I really have NO complaints about-- or it's going to be too different and I personally just won't like it.
-
Right. I mean, how many times can an entire school hate you? It happened twice in the first.
As much as I'd like to believe they could whip up some great story a second time, I just . . . don't think it's likely.
But then again, what do I really know? :P Haha
-
Hmm, no, I agree.
Poor Jimmy shouldn't have to go through that experience twice. :P
Unless it happens to a whole different character.
Like I said, maybe Bully is just perfect the way it is?
-
I get that feeling it's one of those games better left alone. The same can be said for any good movie or book out there.
-
I think you're right.
Maybe it happening to a different character could be swell, but I'm too in love with all of the original main characters to like anyone else, really.
Oh, totally off topic, if movies recently didn't suck, I always thought a Bully movie would be so awesome.
-
Oh, no worries, this entire forum is off-topic! It's what we do.
Anyways, there probably is a movie out there that's like Bully. Dunno.
Imagine how much Rockstar would rake in if they made a movie for all the video games they had! Haha!
-
Said it before, I'll say it again.....
Totally New Characters, New School, New Plot, New Missions, New Story.....Period.
No point repeating the same game since we already know what's here. Part of the thrill of a game like this is new places to explore.
I think this worked out great with games like Resident Evil and Manhunt. Who wants a churned-up version of Jimmy & company ?
Heros and Villians are a dime a dozen. Next !
-
I'd sort of like a game where you're Gary, terrorizing whatever school you go to next...
-
And I really agree about the casual sex part, what you said was totally true. It happens.
Okay good! I didn't know if that sounded creepy or not haha
I mean really, he won all the cliques' respect. So maybe he'd lose it again then gain it back in the end? Who knows. That's for Rockstar to decide.
That's happened in the game already.
Or just Gary coming back all togehter and starting drama again, but some people might complain that they're just re-using the same idea again.
Yeah, Gary just needs to be tossed away. He's old news, and nobody would fall for his shit anymore.
No point repeating the same game since we already know what's here.
^ That.

Earthbound was an amazing game (and this is not just my opinion! There's a ton of fans out there), but it's sequel was even more mind blowing (again, not just my opinion), despite not having a lot of elements from the first game.
What I'm trying to say is that even if things are a little bit different, any hard-core fan of Bully would love a sequel regardless of whatever is removed or added.
... holy crap, I went quote crazy!

As long as they can make the new characters and setting as memorable as the first game, then I think that a whole new story wouldn't be that bad at all.
I'd sort of like a game where you're Gary, terrorizing whatever school you go to next...
Oh gosh, that would actually be really fun. Gary was my favorite character.
-
Gary was my favourite as well.
-
Didn't notice this before, but welcome to the site, and nice to make your acquaintance.
I personally believe Bully should get a spiritual successor rather than a direct sequel. This way, people can't complain about changes to Bully's world.
@Hayley: Earthbound/Mother are some of the most memorable games out there (and very depressing too, especially 3).
And about the casual sex: How is that creepy? It's part of teen life.
One thing's for sure, though, the fighting needs to be more fast-paced (similar to The Warriors, if not Yakuza), and I think it should require skill. The game is too easy.
-
Thank you for knowing what the Mother series is! You just earned yourself a billion cool points from me. It's hands down one of my top favorites.
I just didn't want to come across as a sex hound or something for saying I wanted casual sex in the game. Not that it'll ever happen anyway. Just look at all the controversy for the Hot Coffee mod.

From what I hear, Rockstar new England is making A new project and they say its gonna be awesome. It could be Bully 2, But i'm not sure. I'll give Rockstar to mid 2012 and if theres no Bully 2 trailer, announcemnent or anything, I give up
