It doesn't even compare to the Middle East. Saudi Arabia is stable, more or less, with the exception of a city called Qatif, but I don't go there (only once). And it's far anyways. In fact, all Gulf countries are stable, for the most part.
Jordan, Algeria, and Morocco have seen their share of riots, but not widespread, and only once things turned violent. Syria, Yemen, and Libya (especially) are blood baths. Bahrain's been quelled.
Egypt and Tunisia are full of riots still, but it's no longer violent.
Edit: Oh, and the fuzz can fuck right the hell off. I hate media sensationalism when it comes to making links between incidents and video games.
