Not too long ago, this place was getting bombaded with spam on a real regular basis....Now, I hardly see any.
 
DGAF, did you guys do something to block it out good, or are we just not that interesting anymore..?

As you can see in the announcement, new members have to wait one day until they post... I think their account is deleted if they do, what is the case of a spambot that doesn't know it...

T-bone, I just got two of those 'danger' PMs also, from that dominic and liasanne, claiming to be members, along with that computer warning, etc....I checked the member lists, and they aren't on there.....

DO NOT open these...Some time ago, I had one of those things sent me E-mail, claiming that I had been exposed to that virus that was masquerading as something else, and to go to this site to get protection....Well, dumbass me, I did, and THAT gave me a virus that I had to buy a REAL protection program for $40 to eradicate, since McAffee couldn't....So now I have 2 protection programs.

The one I bought, by the way was Stopzilla, And I really like it....It does a real good job keeping me virus-free.

My PC came with Norton internet security and they when I downloaded Frost Wire I got Bit Defender. And about those 2 not being on the members list, I tried to click their name and it said I needed "special privelages" or something like that.

I also noticed that when you try to view a spammer's profile you get a message stating you don't have permission.  That is always a dead giveaway that they are a fucking spammer.

I have a spam filter that shunts it to a 'spam file'....I just go there and delete them without having to open them.

Many of them are those scams from Africa, saying they are a depsoed Prince or something, and have like 5 million dollars they want to give you to help them out....From what I've heard, they will send you a bogus check for you to deposit in your bank...Then they want a little of it back, for various reasons...

When their fake check doesn't go through, and if you are dumb enough to have sent out any money to them, then you have been scammed....

Are you sure it's not messages from a few days ago?  I haven't had anything pop up in my folder in over a week.  I think DGAF already took care of it.
  About new members,  we need to stop the spam, but when new members can't join, things will stagnate.  This already happened on another forum I belong to.  Spam was an issue, so no members could join.  After 6+ months people left, no one filled their spots and fights between members broke out and now the whole forum is practically dead.

Well, I came close to murdering people, with the bombs....And, eary on, the murder of Gary was alluded to, can't remember who wrote that part in...But, killing off the characters would just kind of spoil the thrust of the story, at least at this point...Without the villians, we really don't have much story....The evilness, the scheming, the suspense....Injuring them, blowing their nuts off, even rape...these things have been introduced so far, but once we open the door to murder, I feel it would just take this in a direction that wasn't Mercury's orginal intent for NES....

So, I'm not gonna be killing anybody, not at least until we would reach our chapter 6, Our Endless Summer part of the story....Might be a good place to put that, near the end of the first volume.....

BTW, After you get your Thousand, you gonna come back and write some more parts ?

That's where he will have them bring their 'merchandise' for Jake to trade off to the 'terrorists' (plus some cash for Jake).....It will be a good location to store that stuff, as Jake can sell back the 'excess' to the cliques.

Jake will have to pick a fake name...But maybe not right away....He can't reveal his true Identity to the cliques until after he has 'saved' them from the terrorists....

As to spam, if Chrissy or I are here, any spam disappears rather quickly.  If you don't see it, then we are doing our jobs well.

Plus, it's fun to execute spammers and spambots.
