I have tried changing their genders, to no success, but I can't think of anything else that would work.

I don't think it is related with the genders. Edit or delete the excluder.dat file inside the data folder and so everyone can appear or enter every interior.

The excluder only affects the bathrooms for boys and girls (and other places).

I remember Madman explained how this worked.

The thing that controls which sex can spawn where is controlled through the lua scripts for the interiors.

You can just directly spawn girls in the boy's dorm through lua. However note that once they're knocked out, they won't spawn again.

Unless you have different plans.

I have seen people make this with out LUA
But god knows how people do it.

Perhaps he means changing their gender through default.idb in ide.img?
