I wonder...
With RockstarGames working in their secret Area 51-base, I can't help but to wonder what would happen if Bully 2 got released.
Would the old classic be forgotten in the dust, whilst milions of new members rush over to Bully 2, stepping on Bully 1 in their path?
Jimmy, Gary, Pete, Zoe... and all of those other muppets... Just forgotten in the shadows.
.. Or! Will it get a huge boost and a larger fanbase than ever before?
What do you guys think?
*takes a sip of tea* :cc_detective:

Anything could happen, really. Is it possible that the classical Bully 1 will be forgotten and stomped on? Absolutely. If Bully 2 is marketed and spread around well enough (And considering it's R*, they most likely will....) It will bring in a large flock of fans stumbling onto communities, and, in action, also stumbling onto BB.
I mean...... When GTA V was released, did anyone give two fucks about GTA IV?..... No, not really. However, Bully, largely unpopular with lots of people, (even to R* fans), it's possible that people WILL go and play the first Bully to quench their first for the second one. :ajajaxh5:
I'm also interested in how modding Bully 2 will go. :ajajaxh5: (If they release it on PC.....) :ajajaxh5:

I think, and have always said, that it will be a completely new game, new location, new characters.
-
^ I'm pretty sure SWEGTA didn't mean how Bully 2 will BE like as a game, but rather the community of Bully and how the it will evolve.
-
Be that as it may, just how many of those will have even played Bully 1 after all this time (7+ years) ?
The former characters will get trampled in the dustbin of video history.
-
... unless... a few of them make a return? 8)
-
Posed Question: Where is James Earl Cash and his victims ?
(I woulda liked to seen that hot little reporter again).....
-

That's what I'm hoping for. My preference is to see Jimmy return as protagonist. I don't see any reason for Rockstar to replace him - he's young, his voice actor is still game, and there's a lot of great places his story could go.
I think Bully is popular enough that a lot of Bully 2 players will have already played the first game. If they have similar characters, I guarantee the 1st game will see renewed popularity. If its a total reboot, who knows. My experience is that the percentage of people interested in playing the original game of a revived franchise is quite small.
-
I don't think it'll be buried. Bully will always remain a classic, its like GTA4 with GTA5, people will remember it and possibly cherish it in the future. I'd like to see a refrence to the last game in Bully 2, maybe one of the students at the school switches schools or somthing

Bully will die like SA,VICE CITY,GTA 3

You'd be VERY surprised about San Andreas......
-
San Andreas is by for the most popular GTA in my opinion.
HUGE modding community which is still increadibly active to this day.. Video makers posting video after video and getting thousands of views..
Most GTA games never really get forgotten.

a lot of people still play GTA San Andreas such as myself. I prefer its gameplay over GTA V any day 8)
-
I'd still play Bully 1. It's a classic and is my favourite game in the whole world. Oh and it'd feel a bit weird not playing Jimmy, I love him haha. T___T
I really hope that R* stays true to the combat and stuff, I like how Bully's fighting mechanics work. I mean, GTA V's combat is awesome but I don't think Bully needs to follow suit.
-
Well, I don't think as kids they would be allowed to murder other kids (or adults) for that matter. That takes it out of the realm of just being a teen game and puts it in the crowded field of many other games where the whole thrust is to just kill something. True, many of my favorite games are the ones where the player kills something (Manhunt, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dino Crisis, etc.), but I remember the times where there were some video games where the focus wasn't on killing. Bully is unique in that nobody is actually 'killed' and removed from the game, but one is allowed to shoot (with non-lethal weapons) and temporarily disable their opponents. That should be carried on, and Bully shouldn't become just a GTA clone.
-
Honestly , if bully 2 came out I would still play bully 1 from time to time but that's just me and my opinion.

So, GTA SA is dead huh?
Here's is GTA SA's release dates.
PS2: October 2004
PC: June 2005
Xbox 360 Download: October 2008
Mac OS X: November 2010
PS3 digital download: December 2012
iOS: December 2013
Android: December 2013
Yeah, GTA SA must be dead.
Nearly 10 years old and still a "new" game. :P
Also regarding Bully, I don't think every character will be forgotten, we'll have the Jimmy/Gary fanboys/girls asking and making theories as to what happened to Jimmy/Gary during Bully 2 if they're not present, much like the GTA/COD Zombies community does when certain characters are absent from a game, but unconfirmed as to what happened.

Yeah, GTA SA must be dead.
Not to mention the fact that GTA SA Online is VERY active.
-
And the fact that Grand Theft Auto is probably one of the biggest (if not the biggest) video game franchises to date. Tons of people still remember and enjoy the prior games.
If anything, I think the announcement and release towards a sequel will only give Bully 1 more attention. People will wonder what the first Bully is like, and will want to try it out.

One of my mates owns COD Ghosts for PC and he says there's only around 20,000 people online. [I cannot confirm this as I can't care less for COD Ghosts.]
I go on SA:MP and see around 10,000 online. Still very impressive for a 10 year old game. If modders can make SA:MP iOS/Android compatable, then I expect GTA SA to be more played than GTA IV and Black Ops 1 and possibly Ghosts too.
But I can definitely confirm more people play GTA SA than COD World at War. (10,000+ vs 3,000)

It will do, as some YouTuber's I watch go and play the last game in the series whilst waiting for the newer game, such as when GTA V was coming out, everyone hopped back to GTA IV or GTA SA so they could be more hyped, not to mention it sorta "revived" modding,
I hope if Bully 2 does come out it'll bring loads of people back to Bully 1, people like Pewdiepie and that NerdCubed have definitely increased popularity for Bully.
-
Hmm.... I know I will never stomp and expel feces on Bully I's memory. I love it too much. Just probably spend much time on Bully II, because the fact that it is newer. If the game play sucks compared to 1, I will proudly be the first Bully II returner, and just continue my 100% game play. But if it's next gen, hmmmm....
-
I think it will be like, a scattered dream that's like a far off memory, and a far off memory that's like a scattered dream. But if I think it's how It's gonna be, Bully I will never be forgotten because same school and characters so.... You'll have to play B1 to understand B2. But if it's different same thing, we've waited so long for a sequel, so I don't think they'll be forgotten for a while.
-

Kinda exactly.
-
NOOOOOOOO!!!! Red Dead?!?!? RED DEAD ALREADY HAD A SEQUEL, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
-
^ I'm actually excited about this. Okay, Bully 2 isn't going to come out as soon as we'd hoped, but RDR 2?..... Awesome. 8)
-
I, I, I, I, I guess, sooooo.....

Still, many BB members know that the future of Bully is bright. Yeah, it sucks we won't be getting a sequel until AT LEAST 2018, most likely later, but hey..... Max Payne 2 took NINE years to get a sequel. But it got just that. A sequel. (2003 - 2012.......) So, take from that what you will. 8)
-
I just didnt wanna wait until i was almost out of my teen years.
-
^ That doesn't matter to true gamers, about how old they are.
-
No, I'm sayin, I mean I guess, yeah, maybe I'll even be surprised. :D FINAL FANTASY XV!
-
i really hope we get to see Jimmy hopkins as 20 year old. lives in Bullworth. And we do some missions for him.
And he says like
"When i was your age i was the king at Bullworth academy" xD
-
I personally think the fate of Bully 1 will depend on what's all in Bully 2. If the sequel still has Jimmy as the main character then no, I don't think the first one will be forgotten and left in the dust. But if the sequel has completely new characters and a new setting then yeah sadly I fear that it will be trampled on :( I however will never abandon the first one, I love it too much as it's been a big part of my life!
-
Ah, just like James Earl Cash, James Hopkins will go the way of the one-hit Rockstar wonders.
-
But if Bully 2 is released, then people will think it'll be better than the first one. Because of that, people who have never played the classic before will just go on to Bully 2 without knowing a think about the original storyline.
-
Does anyone remember GTA 1 or GTA 2 ?
If a Bully 2 is ever released, I hope it IS better. But who knows ?
