I think you all remember the mission where you have to make Gord follow you into the huge garage where Johnny Vincent is waiting for him... I don't know for you, but I found this fight really cool ! I love driving a bike while taking everyone down with everything you've got, firecrackers, stink bombs, even maybe eggs...
I would have found it cool if those Bike Fights would have been available at anytime in the garage, so that you could earn some money with it, facing different cliques as opponents, as for dodgeball ! ;)
-
Thats a pretty good idea. I found that level to be fun too.
-
I saw some preppies throwing eggs the last time I did that mission.
I agree. The BMX park is pretty boring because no one goes there. (Aww... Jimmy's got no one to play with.)
How much would he win from a bike fight?
-
Sometimes there are a few greasers there, but they dont ever start throwing firecrackers or eggs.
-
There's usually at least one using the bike park each time I go there....
-
But what's the point of a BMX park is you're going to bring a fancy bike that you can't at least pop a wheelie?
-
Yeah, I can't say I like the game's physics when it comes to the bikes and especially the skateboard. Whenever I go the the BMX park with the skateboard, I get tricked in to feeling like I'm playing Tony Hawk, but I get sadly dissappointed when Jimmy can't do the simplest of tricks.
-
Oh yeah, I'm a great fan of the whole Tony Hawk's series, and I agree with you, Mike, this is really disappointing...
-
Tony Hawk rules!!
-
that would be cool cuz i like to go to the BMX park and knock people off theit bikes!!!
-
Has anybody ever tried to crash Jimmy's bike into another kid's bike at the BMX Park ??
-
I have. They just fall off and then get back on.
-
Meh, I only like the old TH games (Pro Skater).
That'd be cool, the bike fights, but at the Park I just hopped off my bike and shot the shit out of them instead of using the bike.
I still go to the Park though. I wish you could drive the go-kart in there though. And I see atleast 2 greasers there when I go.
-
I like old TH games too, but I get frustrated as I played the new ones before, because I can't get off the skate !
-
I just don't like them because they're too easy and unrealistic. Skate series is better.
Also, old TH is just more fun because it was more arcade based.
-
Hey, Mercury. What happened to the "Imperial Banana Smash"?
-

Tony Hawk 2 was the best! I remember playing that almost everyday a few years ago. I think it was my sophomore year in HS, my sister and I would spend entire afternoons on 2 player doing the "tag" games and trick competitions.
-
When I had my PS1 I was ALWAYS playing Pro Skater 2.
-
Remember that level in NYC? I remember there was some trick you did by jumping on one of the subway trains. One time I just kept jumping on every passing train car and got like 180,000 points or something. The level goal was, I forget, about 40,000?
-
I can remember NY, but I was really young and I can't really remember it. But I do remember the skatepark with the bulls.
-
Oh yeah, I think that was the last level called "Bull Ring".
-
That one was my favorite
-
NYC ? The one with the taxis, right ? Where you have to get subway tokens, he ?
And I remember having a challenge in Marseille, the third level I think.
Don't worry, the Imperial Banana Smash is in the spoiler ! ;)
-
I really wish I wouldn't have sold that game. It was probably the best game I had for a long amount of time.
-

Awesome!:) I would've missed it.
-
Yeah....What's Mercury without his smash ??
-
He'd still be something... But not as much;)

Oh yeah. Good times on THPS2. I still play that. Trying to 100% it with my custom character so I can unlock Spiderman.
-

I still have it. Replay value is excellent.
-
Wait... It isn't Spiderman, is it ? I thought it was Iron Man...
-
I'm an ABSOLUTE freak of creating parks in the whole Tony Hawk's Series... I could create parks all day and never get bored ! That's why I prefer the recent ones, like Underground or Wasteland, because their editing mode is better. The thing is, the environment of your park absolutely sucks in Underground 2... You have the choice between Antarctica, Mars, a cemetery, a race circuit or a marsh... Not so cool as the previous one.
-
I like the old ones, more skatepark based, but the newer ones are koo too. My favorite TH game is by far Underground 1. But since my PS2 is so screwed up it can't play it.
I made a "Checker board" in Pro Skater 2. Part flat, part spike pit. Oh the joy of staying alive...
-
I remember doing that! I would make these crazy ass parks that had tons of spike pits. It would verge on being impossible. Also...500th post!
-
Also...500th post!
Wow! you're going as fast as me.
-
A weird thing just happened. I was at the video store and guess what the only playstation1 game they had left.TONY HAWK PRO SKATER 2!
-
I'm not really in any rush to get my post count up, just a lot to talk about lately. All this talk of Tony Hawk is making me want to play it. As soon as I'm done here I'm going right to TH
-
Aaahhh!! I can't find it! Here I am, all worked up to play TH 2 and as usual when I'm looking for something it's the only game I can't find. Fuck my life! :(
-
That always happens to me. Only I put it somewhere where I won't lose it... And then I lose it.
-
Well, it's been like 3 years since I played it. That should explain why I can't remember where I put it.
-
You should keep all your shit together....What the hell's wrong with you anyway...
-
That's a long story.
-
That's alright, I don't really need to know.....Maybe best that I don't......
-
Lawl.
-
Are those skateboards as easy to manage as Jimmy's ??
I've never played any of the TH games.....
-
Real easier, I think !
What really disappointed me after THPS 2 is the deletion of the "Big Drop". You remember ? When you fall from a high, you'll eat the ground. That was much more realistic, because in the next games, you can fall from the roof of an hotel and just land as if you've had fallen from a meter...
But the thing you've missed is, if you don't have Tony Hawk's Underground or higher, you can't know the "Fireman" game for two players. By making a trick, you can throw a fireball and smash your opponent !
-
The skateboards in TH were way easier to handle than Jimmy's. The most obvious explanation for that is the fact that TH games were made specifically to perform like real skateboards and do tricks, were Jimmy's is used mostly for a quick getaway or for transport.
-
There's a way to survive a Big Drop, though. Just press the jump button before landing, or hold it down. That's how you survive the Leap Of Faith gap at School II. Oh yeah, the Firefight games. Me and my friend played that in his custom level, and his guy got glitched. So he tried to get up, and the guy just crashed his back down all the time, and everytime he did he shot out a fireball. Freaking hillarious then.
-
I've made custom parks just for this kind of game, with walls, lava... All fun !
-
I wish I wouldn't have sold that game. I haven't played it in about 6 years and I should have kept the PS1.
-
Wish granted, you sold Bully instead. :o
-
did you just grant your own wish?
-
Yes indeedy! I like this thread, so... I "updated" it...
-
You shouldn't of did that.
-
But I like it! We were talking about Tony Hawk!!
-
Fuck Activision, they fucked those games up.
