remember when the UK refused to release bully because of the name "bully" because of the awful school bullying problem that was happening
like is that it?
the game is literary a student using violence to take over cliques and the UK had a problem because of the name?
-
Did it really? I honestly don't remember hearing about this
-
The name change was fuelled by Tabloid sensationalism about a game which "glorified bullying in schools" - without even checking out the actual story of the game - but by the time Scholarship Edition came out everyone had forgotten about it entirely, so they called it "Bully" with that release rather than Canis Canem Edit.

@bigfoot
Hmm, I never knew that interesting.
-
Things would go south if Bully was released today due to cancel culture and social controversies, the late 2000s and early 2010s internet was a different place compared to now.
-
It's really ridiculous lmao
-
Like, any small mistake will lead you to get cancelled. Like, anything gets you bashed at and insulted. People be real sensitive and ridiculous tbh.
-
For real though. Like man, you can say you went out and saw a butterfly and someone would probably pull a "my mother was killed by a butterfly, fuck you" card.
Twitter is the worst offender in that regard from what I've noticed.
-
Don't get me started on Twitter.
It's a real shitfest.
-
I just look for art there really, but it's a pain because unlike Tumblr people never really tag their shit.
But whenever I see screenshots of people being insane, it's usually Twitter and Facebook.
I don't use social media cuz it's all bad lmao
-
Yeah, I stopped using social media much because things go out of control and there's just way too much hatred and pettiness.
-
I also hate people in general and don't like having any information about myself just... out there.
If people wanna get to know me, it's gotta be done privately. :ninja:
-
Yeah, I share the same thinking.
