If memory serves I think it is from there.

The text decompiler tool after it is decompiled, you get a series of text files that are named appropriately if I remember right.
Not sure if your using the original release of that tool or not, but I did a english translation for that tool and released it as just that. With credit given to the original author.

Kinda wish I had the sources to that tool since it would give me a few ideas on some other files in the game.

If I remember correctly, TextPrint("M_PASS",4,1) just change M_PASS to the name of the file you edited with shotguns tools. It has been a while since I have done any modding for Bully, or really, any game so not fully sure if I am remembering this correct. Tho keep in mind when I say change it to the name of the file, just use the general name in the same way M_PASS is used and I think it will work. I have done this stuff myself but its been a while so not fully sure I am remembering corrrect.

Modding Questions/Help Archives / Re: Pissing action node?

The 'pissing' action nodes are tied into the player. You may have to check around in one of the lists DaBOSS posted some time ago. It is possible they are in there.

On another note, it is quite funny to play as a girl and try to use a standup urinal....try it if u want a cheap laugh. hehe

Are you referring to just printing strings or are you referring to the hints/instruction boxes that appear on the screen? Since if you want the latter, I will try to explain how to go about it, only thing is....you will break the game...I don't know any other way to alter that portion of the game without breaking things.

I will try to get time to explain either late tonight (tonight my timezone) or tomorrow if I get a chance. Been super busy with things away from BB and making time isn't easy.

I did something like this in the early days of lua modding, before I released any of the stock lua scripts to the community. Local multiplayer functions are built into the game and the console versions already had this fully functioning. All of this is actually a leftover bit of code from porting the game to PC format from console.

I never bothered releasing any of the experiments I did regarding this since I didn't think that anyone would really be interested in such a mod. Most people want full internet multiplayer and almost noone uses local multiplayer these days. If you want any help...just ask and I can share with you some of my experimental code (this is assuming of course that I can even locate the files...hdds are a complete mess right now..)

Bully Modding / Re: [WIP] Bully Multiplayer
« on: September 14, 2015, 10:02:29 PM »
The reason why videos and other screenshots haven't been posted yet is simply due to their choice to wait on that.

I myself, if I am developing a mod....I will not post footage of any kind until it is ready for release or is good enough (to me) in order to show off. If it isn't good enough to show off...then I simply will wait till the time is proper.

I imagine that the devs are using the same approach. I do realize that now we live in a society where if someone says that they are gonna do this or that.....someone else is gonna instantly say..."post pictures or it didn't happen" or something along those lines.

I know for example....take Duke Nukem Forever. Great game....however....90% of the duke fans considered that game to be vaporware due to how long it took to get it finally done and out in everyone's hands. I myself....didn't mind the 10+ year wait for the game.....since I myself have lots of patience waiting for something.....not everyone else is that patient.

Then there is the fact that some prefer to see some sort of proof in order to decide for themselves.....

Lemme put things into another perspective.....The devs....P3ti and Pablo got hold of me first before anyone else on this forum and asked me if I wanted to help out with the mod. I told P3ti I would be happy to if it was in an advisory role only....however.....due to things that I will not mention here....I decided very quickly to back away from helping out with the mod (sorry p3ti....I know that didn't make you happy at all....but there was reasons for that) and they continued on and eventually got other people to help them out as they do their work. I can easily verify for anyone thats questioning the authenticity of this mod and say 100% that there is nothing 'fake' about this mod. If my word alone isn't good enough for everyone here that IS questioning that ....then I guess the community may indeed be turning into a lost cause.

Just my thoughts on the whole matter guys.

oh and @ ZekeCunningham

I was not directly pointing any fingers at you or any other member specifically. I was being generalistic in my message and warning above. While I have been staying extremely quiet for a while now and keeping my distance from the modding section....I have been keeping tabs on things and the rest of my fellow staff have been keeping me informed about things such as the arguing that continues to go on in this thread.....and I am serious about locking this thread from anyone other then the dev team from posting in it.

It seems to be the only option left to keep this topic ON topic and pointless discussions (like the one we are having now) out of the topic.

Think about it. ;)

There IS another way to add text styles to the game...this happens to be custom text styles and this makes use of the text boxes that show various hints and other info in the game.

I DO know how do do this but the problem is...you will break the missions in the game if you expect to do a full play through of the game with xx mod that you are using.

I will outline soon how to do this since I have found another 'possible' way that this may be done without breaking the game.

Currently...any testing of any code I write I will be asking DaBOSS to take care of for me until I redo my system and swap my hdds around due to having absolutely no space on my C drive for any games......thanks 3d artwork...ROFL. Need to fix my customized windows installation to install in UEFI mode in order to use my much much larger drives so....sit tight and I will be returning soon to modding since it is apparent I am still needed to help out.  8)

Bully Modding / Re: Needs to change asap
« on: July 25, 2015, 11:43:32 PM »
I have been quietly sitting back and watching everything going on from the background and I do not like what I see. Not one bit.

When I came here to this community way back before we actually had a modding community, I seen potential in starting up a real modding community and decided to do just that. Everyone loved it and I basicly took the reigns as the unofficial leader to give everyone a direction to follow and to teach what I knew about the game....modding....teamwork....making friends...etc. I wanted the community to NOT go in the same direction the gta community did and rather then go in the proper direction, it has started to go down that route. People fighting over fame, glory, credit, complaining about leechers, complaints like: Modder X came up with Mod C but never released it....but Modder Z comes up with a mod that is very similar and releases it which pisses off Modder X due to Modder X not getting the fame that he/she felt they deserved.

From this point forward...I am going to lay down some serious ground rules and start getting everyone back on the right foot. I hate to do it this way but it seems this is the only way anyone is going to actually learn something useful and the only way to save the community. As it is, we are very close to the point of no return and will end up exactly like the gta community and many others that are NOT friendly towards new members/modders.

Starting now....ANYONE who starts a nasty argument will end up with an instant 30 day ban.

ANYONE taking part in that argument will get a 15 day ban.

Repeat offenders will get banned forever.

I don't mind if people want to debate about something...but we have a section just for debates and if you want to debate about something dealing with modding...then create a topic there and make it an actual debate rather then slinging baseless accusations back and forth between one another.

The rest of the staff know my plan as of now and are prepared to deal with anyone that tries starting crap. This just scares away new would be modders because they feel that they will be targeted due to asking for help or making their version of a mod that already exists.

I will be making big changes to the modding section of the forum and will be setting in some new requirements all modders need to meet. No exceptions! The reason for this is i and the other staff would like to keep things neat and organized and not have to wade through endless nonsense in order to get to what is needed/wanted.

Regarding mod releases:

I would like for all modders that release any mod to upload the mod directly to the BB file area and include a properly formatted ReadMe file with each mod they upload. I have coded up a ReadMe file generator program to assist in making these and this way you can put in anything that is important to the use...installation.....uninstallation....etc of each mod. Plus any other notes as you see fit to include. This will help keep the help threads from getting out of control with numerous threads about the same thing or same problem that xxxxx users are having with this or that mod.

I also would like to see a copy/paste of that same readme to be included in the mod upload topic as well so that this information will be seen by the members downloading them.

I also plan to add mini help topics for each released mod or for each modder to use as their own help topic in order to better serve the needs of the members who need help with this mod or that mod. I will be discussing this with the rest of the staff to see if they are on board with these changes to the modding section and maybe this way....I can show all of you the proper way a modding community NEEDS to be maintained.

I retired from active modding with the hopes that the rest of the modding community would take up the slack and provide everyone else with leadership and showing teamwork skills with one another in order to make this stand out above the rest....seems that I need to jump back in and start taking charge again in order to make sure our community becomes THE community for everyone to be part of...even if you join and don't play or mod bully at all....we are more then just a modding community.

Made this tut a sticky so people can find it easier. I myself have had quite a few people pm me as of late to teach them how to rig and now I can point them here since even though I know how to rig a 3d model, I have never tried this for Bully.

Oh, yeah....But none of the free-roam peds or students get to go shirtless, or Jimmy.
Presumably, Mandy is naked in the shower, but we don't even get to see that.

Speaking of the Freakshow characters, has anyone made a mod with them all in free-roam ?

Mandy at one point in the beta did actually have a fully naked texture that showed her vulva...I happen to have the original texture with the copy of the original .dds format textures I was given a long time ago by my contact. I can deffo say that this would have gotten Bully an M rating instantly and it was apparently either dropped or the texture was simply snuck in. Under her towel in the released game she just has a painted on black thong instead. I can easily restore her to her original form but I will never release such a thing here.

Besides Chuck, you have seen my 'redone' version of Mandy in all her glory anyways minus the outfits so....heh.

Textures Help / Re: Retexture from the beginning
« on: July 08, 2015, 03:32:17 AM »
Just grab a copy of UVMapper and use that to get a template of the model 'unwrapped' that you can use to paint over in photoshop or another editing app. That is what I use for my uv maps. Game uv maps are very different then normal uv maps used in general 3d modeling, namely because in the instance of say a character model, you start off with different material zones for each thing like, torso, legs, arms, hands, head, face, etc and with game uv maps, all of that is combined into a single texture. Makes things easier for the game engine and it takes much less ram up for the textures when they are loaded.

Before messaging anyone...since this will just likely be ignored by most....I suggest strongly checking out the existing tutorials first.

You can find them here: http://www.bully-board.com/index.php?board=158.0

You will need the following tools:

Notepad ++ (or an IDE of your choice...just avoid regular windows notepad)

A .img archive tool....I wrote a couple that are posted in the downloads section. I have one that is command/script based and much more powerful which is a complete redo of an existing tool. There is also a gui based one I released which is a bit dated but still built strictly for Bully.

Paint software of some kind (only if you plan to do texture modding)

and lots of patience.

You will find that if you are very serious about learning how to mod, people here will fall over themselves to help you out. I myself as I find time will also give hints and tips here but since I no longer mod actively, there are others here that are more suited to the task of helping out a new modder. DaBOSS is one that has really made a name for himself and SWEGTA and quite a few others as well.

I wish you the best of luck in your time modding and welcome you to the community.  8)

Oh, and you also will need a lua compiler. I released one strictly for Bully which is in the downloads section and I do plan to release a newer gui based compiler at some point....whenever I get my current projects all finished.

Some pretty good work there Cautious. I may have to come out of retirement to share a few things of my own with you since you are a fellow 3d artist. Nice to have another one around here that I can relate to since I myself am a 3d artist. Somewhere around 20 years experience give or take a few years...since I started way back when 3ds max was just an addon for autocad and wasn't a standalone program like it is now. May have to share a few of my ultra hd bully models that I did (namely for a fanfiction that I am currently working on and may see about doing an unreal engine based playable version of later) which a couple you may find useful. I will have to port them over to a format that bully can use tho if you want any of them since they are extremely high poly...gotta drop the poly counts down since they are around 800k poly. If you check my profile here...there should be a link to my steam profile which you can then add me on steam. More then willing to talk about 3d if you want...heh.

Oh and btw, Welcome to the Snake Pit!  8)
