Title: Bully Age Rated in Australia!!
Post by: 2gud4u on August 26, 2006, 09:17:58 PM
we're pleased to report that Rockstar's next title Bully has passed classification in Australia. The game was awarded a Mature (M) rating, for moderate themes, violence and sexual references. Before being refused classification, the maximum rating a video game can receive in Australia is MA15+ so Bully seems to be flying well under the radar.

note- M does not mean its Mature in other countries, Australia has a long history of rating the games harshly...

Of cause we got GTA.. it was only MA15+.. I'm not sure anymore cause they upped it to R or something didnt they? Dunno.. anyway that was months and months later so everyone that WANTED it actually got it.

And Australia isnt harsh on rating games.. people keep on saying that for some reason.. its because we dont have an R classification. The only games that get banned are the ones that cant be rated.. or are consider WAAAY to violent - and this usually means Australia isnt the only one to ban it.. NZ, and UK usually do before Australia does.

With some exceptions of cause.. but its not a harsh system.

Dunno.. sounds pretty violent and.. well.. you sell drugs lol So I dunno - it probebly will get banned. If anything Jack should be bitchin over that game rather then Bully.. Bully's nothing compared to Scarface or Reservoir Dogs! Its cause its Rockstar.. I think hes got something against them..

Post by: Znib on August 31, 2006, 12:03:55 PM
Reservoir Dogs is more bloody and I have no problem with the fact Aus banned it But

Scarface is less gruesome but the themes of sex, violence and woman + The naughty Lanuage [well it is scarface lol] might put it to being banned....I hope not as its a great game and should be enjoyed by everyone...

Compare it with how GTA SA was handled in Aus?

im glad I'm free since I live in britain, you can't even raise your hand in protest in aussieland without them chopping it off so you can't play a video game or hold a gun.

Yeah, I know.  I'm glad I don't live in Brazil.  I'd have to hide the game in my house.

Every guy needs a hide-out.....It's like a requirement.

Post by: Mike_W on September 02, 2010, 04:22:07 PM
I have one, but it needs serious cleening up.  I haven't used the space in a long time.  I have sort of this "attic" above my garage, but the ceiling is flat on one part and its tall enough that it acts almost like a second floor.  It gets fucking hot up there in the summer though.  Its been close to 100' the past week so I haven't even been tempted to go up there.

My secret hideout is in my basement but that doesn't work so great with xbox live because my connection lags and it kind of Pisces me off.

I make a fort with blankets and call it the batcave.

The then dog plows into it, because he misses me.

That's neat.....I usta do that as a kid, make forts outta blankets and such...later built them out in the country & woods with my now long-lost friends.

Never did find a cave, that would have been even better.

Haha, it must sound so silly, but I have a couch in my room and I have a few quilts. I'll move the couch and drape one quilt over the back side of it and lay the other part on the bed. If it needs to be 'held down' I'll use some textbooks. Then I lay another quilt on the floor and lay underneath with some pillows. Something about the small space that's comforting. Maybe because it's warm and womblike? :P

Regardless, good thing I'm not claustrophobic.

I think it has something to do with feeling safe in an unsafe world.
Title: Re: Bully Age Rated in Australia!!
Post by: Chrissy on September 03, 2010, 12:56:10 AM
Haha, or maybe I just like suffocating spaces?

I remember when I slept over my friend's house a few weeks ago, they took pictures of how I sleep. Apparently, I completely cover myself (head to toe), and sort of cross my arms over my head under the blanket. They said it resembled a body in the morgue and they were creeped out.

I think I was just cold.

I can't stand being in small spaces, I tend to panic.  When I was 5 I used to make tents by draping a blanket over the dining room chairs, then when I was a little older I draped a blue tarp over a jungle-gym in my yard.
Now I just have that attic space.
Title: Re: Bully Age Rated in Australia!!
Post by: T-Bone on September 04, 2010, 12:17:23 AM
darn. Going from a playground equipment and sheets to a hot and smelly attic must be a drag.
Title: Re: Bully Age Rated in Australia!!
Post by: BloodChuckZ on September 04, 2010, 12:22:53 AM
Yeah, what the hell happened to the Jungle Gym ?
Title: Re: Bully Age Rated in Australia!!
Post by: Mike_W on September 04, 2010, 09:55:28 AM
The jungle gym is still there, but it wasn't a regular one, I just called it that for lack of a better word.  It was this play thing that had 4 sides, basically posts with ladder rungs acting as the "walls".  Then there was a slide that came out one side and a some monkey bars going out the other side with swings hanging from it.  In the "box" part of it I used to place wood planks across the rungs to make a make-shif second floor.  Then I would throw a tarp over the top and make a tent of sorts.

The attic isn't too bad. It gets hot in the summer because I live in an old house with virtually no insulation. It's a good sized room though, and like I said, its a large attic, practically a second floor above the garage.

Well, now that it's gonna return to more normal temps in Mass, you should fix it up and make it your "Lair".....After all, where are you gonna bring your dates ?  Motels are expensive.

lol, I don't think that place is going to impress dates. It might impress the guys though, I even have a mini fridge up there.  I really do need to clean it up.  Like any attic we always store things up there.

Hookers don't care about the decor. They just care about getting the deed done with, their money and gtfo.

I used to want to be a mad scientist when I was little. Everyone thought it was cute. They even got me a little scientist set thingy with test tubes and whatever.

I don't remember what the hell I mixed, but I left it in the test tube overnight and it wound up corroding the plastic or warping it, I forget.

My parents threw it away after that. :(

When I was a kid, I had one of those big Chem sets. (This was before I discovered I hated Chemistry).  I mixed all sorts of shit together, but never blew anything up.  So, I sorta lost interest.
Title: Re: Bully Age Rated in Australia!!
Post by: Chrissy on September 12, 2010, 04:16:31 PM
I didn't blow anything up. I just mixed something or another that screwed with plastic. See, the set came with safe 'chemicals' but I got bored with the book's recipes and tried mixing my own.

I was actually told I was lucky I didn't inhale chlorine or something.

I make various firecrackers and IEDs in my chem labs, including dry ice bomb, flashbang, nail bomb, shaped charge(one of the funniest), and Jenkem.

I also make non-explosive weapons like blowgun, hammer, stone knife, battery-acid filled squirt gun, slingshot, and many things.
