i totally messed up. i made it so al the files that are in config and dat are notepad++ how to i restore it back? i already reinstalled Please someone help!!!!

Just reinstall the entire game and not the files if you have any screw ups.
or rollback your pc

I guess just reinstall the game, it does not harm at all too the save files. Just save the modded files and put it in a folder before you reinstall.

Did you accidentally make notepad ++ your standard config file editor?

Yeah, you did not have to reinstall, go to explorer, tools, folder options, file types, delete the cfg extension, and create it again, you will get the unassigned icon in the cfg again, did just test it out.

file right click -> attribute -> connection program -> Change program.
