Maybe in the beta, students once actually had some family. Later in development though, maybe they scraped the idea and just left the names in there. Just like Ms. Danvers, in default.ide she is called Miss Winston, but we all know her real name in the game was changed to be Danvers rather than Winston.

Just because certain characters share a last name with another isn't solid proof they're related...
Unless it's blatantly addressed ("Thad’s older brother Dan thinks he’s all tough now!") the "omg same last name/hair colour/whatever, they're relatives!" claim is stupid.

If anybody cares, while we're on this topic, I started to write down anything in characters' dialogue that mentions family. It's largely unfinished and will remain that way unless somebody wants to pick it up but you can still read a few characters and their thoughts/feelings/closeness (or lack thereof) to their relatives.

Anyway my point is, Damon bullies Sheldon and if they were brothers, that wouldn't happen.

Zoe seems to be on the more rough-edged side of the family, whilst Bif is on the prude and highly thinking side, thus splitting the two and leaving them on completely different sides of Bullworth.
