Modding Questions/Help Archives / Playing as lola- hair
« on: February 23, 2014, 01:06:45 PM »
Sorry I keep posting here lol.

Anyone know how to fix Lola's weird hair when playing as her? I figure its an extra texture I need to map onto the ninja outfit since Jimmys model lacks a hair mesh but Im not smart enough to figure it out.

Bully 1 Discussion / Re: Favorite Mission music(Soundtrack) in Bully.

Music from The Tenements and The Slingshot are two that first come to mind.  Pretty much the entire soundtrack is great though.

Modding Questions/Help Archives / Applying a colour filter
« on: January 28, 2014, 10:37:12 PM »
I've been checking out some LPs and found one with visuals I really like (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpkdDHXZZAM)  The game looks like it has a much cooler palette, with richer blues and de-saturated reds.  Really invokes a foggy, damp New England feel IMO... is there any way to apply a filter mod to achieve an effect similar to this?  I have no idea how complicated it might be but I'm curious if it's possible for an amateur.

Bully 2 Discussion / Re: What will happen to Bully?
« on: January 03, 2014, 06:26:45 PM »
... unless... a few of them make a return?  8)

That's what I'm hoping for.  My preference is to see Jimmy return as protagonist.  I don't see any reason for Rockstar to replace him - he's young, his voice actor is still game, and there's a lot of great places his story could go.

I think Bully is popular enough that a lot of Bully 2 players will have already played the first game.  If they have similar characters, I guarantee the 1st game will see renewed popularity.  If its a total reboot, who knows.  My experience is that the percentage of people interested in playing the original game of a revived franchise is quite small.

Bully 1 Discussion / Re: Just beat the game after waiting 6 years

Ive already tried modding a bit!  Attempted to get Gary, Petey, and the clique leaders to spawn in free roam but ended up spawning seven Derby clones outside Harrington House lol

I can see why Bully is such a cult-favourite.  So much memorable dialogue and the missions are consistently fun.  They put a lot of love into this game. Theres a lot of the map I haven't even been to yet!

We got a story about what happened after.  Sorta.

Where? I'd love to read/see it.  The vanilla ending is very weak.

I liked Panty Raid, The Big Game, and Halloween.  The Christmas-themed ones were great too, but I wish they happened before Christmas, not after.

They'll probably make another Red Dead before the next Bully - if they even intend to do Bully 2 at all.

Bully 2 Discussion / Re: Joining a Clique in the Sequel

I think I'd prefer a neutral mediator.  It would be hard to make a single protagonist whose personality would allow them to fit in with any clique, unless they turned the game into an RPG of some sort.

Bully 2 Discussion / Re: How would you want bully 2? (Poll)
« on: January 03, 2014, 03:35:11 AM »
I'd prefer a follow-up with Jimmy as the protagonist, including cameos from other main characters.  It would probably be easier to reboot entirely, but i really liked Jimmy and feel like there's so many new places his story could go.  I want to see him develop more as a character.  And I'm not sure if I'd be interested in playing a sequel with no attachment to Bullworth whatsoever.  The chemistry between cliques is a huge part of what made the game great, and would be hard to recreate in a totally new setting.  The model isnt as generics as GTA's is.

Bully 1 Discussion / Just beat the game after waiting 6 years
« on: January 03, 2014, 02:57:31 AM »
I remember watching my step-brother playing this back when it first came out.  He'd never let me play, and eventually I forgot about it.  When I bought a PS3 a few years later I was bummed to find my model didn't support backwards compatibility.  Finally this year I've transferred to PC gaming, and bought Bully in a steam sale last month.  Playing a game you've been meaning to get to for over 6 years is an awesome feeling.  So, because it meant so much to me, I figured I share some thoughts with veteran fans on here.

The game is a lot more expansive than I remembered!  I love the town and all of the class mini games were great - although English and Math were a real pain.  Lots of the dialogue was really amusing.  Even though he wasn't in it enough, Gary was probably my favourite character along with Jimmy and Lola.  The scenery changes for Halloween and Christmas were awesome touches, too.

My only two complaints are that it was too short, and that and the ending was a bit rushed.  Even within the chapters that dealt with a single clique, I only ever managed to learn one or two members' names - I would've loved extra missions that dealt with personal issues for all sorts of people around school.  As for the ending, that goes for Jimmy's expulsion and the boss fight.  I didn't really understand the reasoning behind his expulsion, and it seemed so lame considering how much crap he had gotten away with all year.  The Gary fight's set-up was definitely not as unique or memorable as the other boss fights.  And the epilogue was so rushed - I really wanted to see the results of Jimmy's actions and the fate of the main characters.

But those complaints are me being picky about a game I ultimately really loved.  I think I'll be going for 100% completion (not looking forward to the nerd challenge, lol..) and will probably replay one day.  Maybe once Bully 2 is announced, eh?  ;)  I'd also like to say that it amazes me there's still a fanbase around for Bully.  Proves how fun and engaging this title was for so many different people!
