No Prefects hanging around on this one.....

Post by: Mike_W on April 02, 2010, 05:34:24 PM
I think one came for me once.  I hit a little kid or something and a prefect actually did come after me.  Maybe it was a glitch?  I scared the shit out of me as I wasn't really expecting it.

No, no, it ain't no stupid glitch... Just the red meter alert as it is...

The best mission of the game, Halloween, when the Prefects are gone. Sometimes I start a new game just to use the eternal Halloween glitch. No Prefects!
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Dave on November 29, 2010, 03:53:07 PM
Yeah but they pop up if you hit a girl or little kid. At least for me they did.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Mike_W on November 29, 2010, 04:12:37 PM
They did for me also.  They aren't roaming around, but do appear in the case of a red trouble meter.

Title: Re: Halloween

If there's gonna be a clock, there should be a calendar also.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: BloodChuckZ on December 05, 2010, 06:48:03 AM
^ That's like, a good point.....But, that would take away from your choice to do the missions at your own pace, I would think....Unless, the calendar wasn't advanced until after each mission was successfully completed.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Dave on December 05, 2010, 10:38:18 AM
Yeah I'm not sure how that could work out... Maybe it wouldn't matter what time of the year you did them. So you could take as long as you want. They screwed up the changing seasons in this Bully when Jimmy's mom said they'd be back to pick him up "next year."
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: BloodChuckZ on December 05, 2010, 11:24:12 AM
Yeah, but the bitch never came back.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Dave on December 05, 2010, 05:35:02 PM
I know. So there was no reason for them to even make that part of the story. I want changing seasons man. Or maybe because your only in high school for 4 years (well most of us) so it would be unrealistic to go through 500 winters.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: BloodChuckZ on December 05, 2010, 06:07:44 PM
Seeing how Jimmy was supposed to be 15, he should have been an incoming 10th grader.  So one would think that a sequel would (if set at Bullworth) bump him up to a Junior, with all new missions and places to access that he didn't get to first time around.  Maybe access to some buildings that weren't accessed first time....The Autoshop, The Observatory (which could maybe be fixed up), the third floor of the school.  Maybe the return of the Hobo from outer space, as an intelligent being.

Might have been nice to have a real snow or a real snowstorm to try to do missions in.  For being set in New England, there is damn little snow during Chapter 3.  What about piles of leaves to rake in the fall in Chapter 2 ?  Or maybe some real thunderstorms in Chapter 4 ?
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Mike_W on December 05, 2010, 07:12:20 PM
Its not that unusual to have little snow in New England.  A few years ago it only snowed about 2 times the whole winter, both times were in February.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Dave on December 05, 2010, 07:21:40 PM
There should've been more than just a little dusting on the ground though. And, that is unusual!
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Mike_W on December 05, 2010, 07:24:20 PM
It looked like maybe there was more than a dusting in the game, maybe an inch or two.  Also, that odd winter we had was the 2006-2007 winter.  Our first snow was during the second week of February and the last one was during the last week of that month.  We still haven't had any snow this year other than flurries.  Although we may get a big storm next weekend.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: BloodChuckZ on December 05, 2010, 07:54:46 PM
We just got a 3-incher Saturday.  A bit early for us, usually comes around the 3rd week.  Last year wasn't anything till after Christmas.  I do recall a time once a duster 1-2 incher right before Thanksgiving though.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Dave on December 05, 2010, 09:21:54 PM
Places a little south of me just had a huge storm where they had 30 - 40 inches. Luckily, where I'm at, I've got just about an inch. Lake effect can do that.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Mike_W on December 05, 2010, 09:59:13 PM
I remember having about 6 inches of snow on Thanksgiving a couple of times.  We also had a thunderstorm during one Thanksgiving.

Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: Mike_W on December 06, 2010, 10:18:33 AM
Sometimes the lake effect snow drifts far enough away from the lakes to make it to where I am.  Usually by that time its reduced to flurries.

In Western NY, we get huge lake effect snow storms until about mid January. Then the lake (lake Erie where I'm at) freezes over and then it's just regular snow, and wicked cold. Oh, Winter. How much I've missed it. Not.

Sucks for you.  When it gets really cold around here, it doesn't last long. I live about 40 miles away from the coast, that tends to moderate things a little bit.

Title: Re: Halloween

Alrighty, then ... picture this if you will.

10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes,
In my "need to know" pose, just outside of Area 51
Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thingy
When a flaming stealth banana split the sky
Like one would hope but never really expect
To see in a place like this.
Cutting right angle donuts on a dime
And stopping right at my Birkenstocks,
And me yelping...

Holy fucking shit!

Then the X-Files being,
Looking like some kind of blue-green Jackie Chan
With Isabella Rossellini lips, and breath that reeked of
Vanilla Chig Champa
Did a slow-mo Matrix descent
Outta the butt end of the banana vessel
And hovered above my bug-eyes, my gaping jaw,
And my sweaty L. Ron Hubbard upper lip,
And all I could think was:
"I hope Uncle Martin here doesn't notice
That I pissed my fuckin' pants."

So light in his way,
Like an apparition, [that]
He had me crying out,
"Fuck me
It's gotta be
The Deadhead Chemistry
The blotter got
on top of me
Got me seein' E-motherfuckin'-T!"

And after calming me down
With some orange slices
And some fetal spooning,
E.T. revealed to me his singular purpose.
He said, "You are the Chosen One,
The One who will deliver the message.
A message of hope for those who choose to hear it
And a warning for those who do not."
Me. The Chosen One?
They chose me!!!
And I didn't even graduate from fuckin' high school.

You'd better...
You'd better...
You'd better...
You'd better listen.

Then he looked right through me
With somniferous almond eyes
Don't even know what that means
Must remember to write it down
This is so real
Like the time Dave floated away
See, my heart is pounding
'Cause this shit never happens to me

I can't breathe right now!

It was so real,
Like I woke up in Wonderland.
All sorta terrifying
I don't wanna be all alone
While I tell this story.
And can anyone tell me why
Y'all sound like Peanuts parents?
Will I ever be coming down?
This is so real
Finally, it's my lucky day
See, my heart is racing
'Cause this shit never happens to me

I can't breathe right now!

You believe me, don't you?
Please believe what I've just said!
See the Dead ain't touring
And this wasn't all in my head.
See, they took me by the hand
And invited me right in.
Then they showed me something
I don't even know where to begin.

Strapped down [to] my bed
Feet cold [and] eyes red
I'm out of my head
Am I alive? Am I dead?
Can't remember what they said
God damn, shit the bed.

Hey ...

Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be the One
Born to bear and bring to all the details of our ending,
To write it down for all the world to see.

But I forgot my pen
Shit the bed again ...
Typical.

Strapped down [to] my bed
Feet cold and eyes red
I'm out of my head
Am I alive? Am I dead?
Sunkist and Sudafed *
Gyroscopes and infrared
Won't help, I'm brain dead
Can't remember what they said
God damn, shit the bed

I can't remember what they said to me
Can't remember what they said to make me out to be a hero
Can't remember what they said
Bob help me!
Can't remember what they said

[We] don't know, [and we] won't know (x12)

God damn, shit the bed!

I'm Ambi of a sort....Each hand has specific tasks...

Example, Write with Right, Play Sports with Left, etc.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: King Cobra on January 28, 2011, 09:05:51 PM
I like to keep things original. When I'm in my comfort zone with the task at hand I don't want shit to be changed as a "challenge". Its why I've always worked alone in school. I can do shit my way, not the teams way. Once its in motion we don't have detours.

I'm a lefty. If someone doesn't like the way I write then fuck them. I'm not going to swith for the satisfaction of anybody.
This was back when they believed left-handedness was a sign of being possessed by the devil or something. I used to color with my left hand in Pre-K and they would tell me I was using the wrong hand. Eventually it conditioned me to use my right hand, but there are certain things I only really feel comfortable doing with my left hand. For example, guitar hero (if I play it) I play it as a lefty.

I can still write with my left hand (although not as neat, I erase with my lefthand, and sometimes I'm a lot more comfortable doing math with my left hand, as weird as it sounds.
Title: Re: Halloween
Post by: BloodChuckZ on January 29, 2011, 05:41:23 PM
^ Not weird at all.  Areas of expertise lay in certain areas of the brain.  There are some of us, and I am one, who are more proficient and comfortable splitting up tasks between hemispheres than trying to focus them all on one side.  I can write with my left, but not as well as with my right.  I can throw a baseball with my right, but not as well as with my left.  And, there are some tasks that I can do well with either hand, like using utensils.

I feel those who can use both are lucky.  When I was 7, I busted up my right arm rather badly.  It was in casts for 6 months, and I didn't regain full use of it for 2 years.  It was then I discovered that I could do things with my left as well.  I had to learn it, just as I had to began with when I was a little kid....Nothing comes without practice....But during that time, I got to where I could reasonably do everything with my left just as well as with my right, and some things better.

The only failing from my experience is that I can't write cursive worth a shit with either hand, so I just print.  But I can do that pretty fast.
Title: Re: Halloween
