Yeah you can have subtitles, I completed GTA:SA without knowing that you could have subtitles so I probably missed a few stuff. It's not that I don't understand english, it's just that it's sometimes hard to hear what they're saying.

I like to have subtitles. Even though i am the best english student in my class. They use alot of slangwords in SA that you can identify easyer with captions.

Well then I would be the king of that club since I've completed the 9th grade english book and done the 9th grade "International tests" in 6th grade. I learnt all this when me and my family went to Pakistan for a whole year (my dad worked there). There I went to an english school and talked english constantly for a year. Now I know what you all think "Go back to Afghanistan (even though I've never been there) you fucking terrorist" or some shit like that. I'm as Swedish as everyone else in my class! It's not my fault that my dad works for the UN.

I am totally going to dig this old topic up from the grave, but it caught my interest.

So I assume the option for this must be somewhere in the pause menu? I'm curious about this as it could help determine what some of the characters say for quotes. Some characters say something fast or in a strange way and I've had to guess.

... really Mike? You didn't know about this? Yes. Subtitles are in the options. I have them turned on, actually. They only show up during cut scenes. I've only had one show up in free roam:

Jimmy - "Here ya go."

Ya'know. When you hire people or give them flowers.

Yes, Hayley, this actually IS the first time I knew about this.

I'm bummed that it only works during cutscenes though....I had a sneaking suspicion that was the case.
