skateboard bug
« on: September 07, 2010, 08:54:58 AM »
I got the skateboard as a reward from a very early mission but as soon as I got it, a girl walked up and gave me a task to escort her to the dorm and I never saw the skateboard again, at the time I assumed that it'd dropped, like a weapon, and that I'd be able to find or buy another later.
cut to a few chapters later I run into a mission that tells me to use the skateboard. I managed to complete it without it, but that caught me onto the fact that I was supposed to still have it, or have been able to obtain a new one. I did some reading up and it seems like it was supposed to be permanently in my inventory once obtained, but it isn't. it doesn't show up on the 'weapons' scrolling nor in the inventory on the menu (says 0/1) and it's not in the garage with the bikes either...
so I have two questions
is there any way to fix this bug? and is it likely to cause any problems if I can't?

Bikes are a lot faster, use them. I used skateboard only when I'm very far from the nearest bike. Skateboard is fucking slow.

I use skateboards in schoolyard because bikes are cumbersome and bare foot are slow.

It sounds like the glitch you have is irreversable.  Sadly I think you will have to start a new game if you want the skateboard bad enough.  There was a similar glitch that I ran into where I lost my rubber band ball.

That is the pitts.  I agree with Mike, you would have to start over, or at the very least, go back to a save before you lost it.

Are you playing on PC ?

PC, Steam version (bought it during the summer sale). so long as it's not going to turn out to be essential for a later mission I think I'll just continue without it, maybe I'll play through it again afterwards if I decide to try for 100% as I think I missed an optional mission during Halloween

Like all the others say, start a new file. And using the skateboard in the snow is friggen annoying! So slow.

Well, that is realistic.

I don't understand how Jimmy doesn't slip on his bike when it's winter time. There's no way you could ride a bike like that with snow and ice on the ground.

Sure you could, it would just be hard getting the bike moving initially.

Just think a little bit. Would you like Jimmy to bail every five seconds when riding his bike ?

Naw, just a little unrealistic. But that's okay, Bully still rocks.

Actually, would be more realistic if he did dump the bike more often on the icy pavement.  And there shuold be 'Ice Ptaches' to slip on just like banana peels or marbles.

I really second ice patches, I'd love to see people falling all the time.
